Apparently Worgen and Goblin DK's are getting something special at the end of the DK starting zone.
Any speculation regarding this? I hadn't seen another thread about this.

Wouldn't get too excited about this tbh, pretty sure he's refering to the "special surprize" as in when you discover one of your old friends in that one house and are forced to kill him/her. That's the part where goblin/worgen DKs get stuck right now due to the absence of a "friend".

It's a surprise.
And the quest to kill the old friend is called "A Special Surprise"

This. And even then, it's a Lore hole.

Yeah, they will add the Goblin/Worgen "friends"

They are referencing the quest where you are sent in to kill one of your own race.
I had forgot about that, and you're probably right that it is what is missing. Based on the OP, I thought they had gotten all of the way to Light's Hope Chapel and then got stuck without being able to teleport back to Archerus.

Yup. Check right
here
.
As you can see, there's no quests tagged Worgen and Goblins yet.

goblins and worgens aren't getting anything special :P as others have said, one of the quests in the starting zone is called "A special surprise" wich involves you traveling to the chapel, talking to plagefist, then killing an argent prisoner who happens to be your friend.
ATM neither the goblins nor the worgens have their specific version of this quest, and as a result they can't advance the chain (u can't report back to orbaz bloodbane to do the messanger quest untill u've killed your friend) this leaves potential Worgen and Goblins stuck in the DK starting zones.
then again, this is only temporal, and once they add their quests, u simply discover a friend from the bilgewater cartel (my money is either your boyfriend/girlfriend) or in the case of the worgens you discover a friend from Gilneas (my money is on......... I got nobody xD, seriously :P)

its to stop worgen/goblins rolling DKs and getting to lv80 first.
Makes absolutely no sense, it's beta.

This. And even then, it's a Lore hole.
Even if it IS a lore hole, that's not going to be the death of the game. And even then, it could be explained away with the right storyline. Heck, if you really wanted to you could go and treat the Goblin and Worgen Death Knights not as members of the factions that are joining the horde/alliance respectively, but other members of the race that were turned into Scourge by the Lich King and then joined up with their respective factions once they went to talk to the leaders of their respective faction.
Heck, I don't even see anywhere in lore where it doesn't say that the Goblins didn't travel or leave their islands or the length of time from when you're bitten in the Worgen Starting zone to when they give you the ability to remain in control of your instincts. Again, just because these two races haven't been playable or had huge parts in past lore doesn't mean that they couldn't or haven't existed.

So, when they get those "friends" in that quest, what are they going to say? Here are some ideas I had.
Worgen is probably going to be something like "I remember those fangs anywhere."
Goblin will probably be "I remember that greedy look anywhere."

Except they said the Bilgewater Cartel hasn't left Kazen for years, and no one has seen a Gilneas who went behind the Wall for 20 years. It is a lore hole because both races only enter into/back into Azeroth after the Cataclysm. Pretty much you just have to accept that all new races that have Death Knights will be part of the Hole.

Heh, probably.

Worgen one would be odd if you spoke with him in human form. :P

They could "fix" that and not give Worgen DKs Two Forms until the quest that awards you Death Gate. That might be extremely complicated though.

So will Bolvar be there instead of Arthas?
No; because the DK starting zone takes place 6 months before Wrath no matter which expansion it's in.

So will Bolvar be there instead of Arthas?
No, because the most of the DK zone takes place right before the beginning of Wrath. Although the very end will be hard to justify, Horde-wise at least.
Edit: Beaten to it.

Nope. TBC and WotLK are forever condemned to be some kind of time warp. :-/'
Even if they were to update it though, I seriously doubt they'd take the Lich King away from the zone since that's why you're raised and why you get to join the Horde/Alliance in the first place. Could just take place in the past like it does right now on live.
