I have a few 80s and the rogue has been getting the least attention, so I just started getting him into pvp about 2 weeks ago. I am brand new to arenas. He's at ~1050 resil, and playing a lot of catching up with gear. I read everything here, but have some questions.
Why not put berserking on the OF as well? Im not fully aware of how many different ways a toon can be disarmed besides the rogues dismantle but it hasn't been a problem so far..
Assuming everything is going well in an arena(2v2) what would a rotation look like? Just tryin arena for points and to get some exp at it with a warrior as my partner(not a preferred team I realize). I tend to stealth, sprint when it starts, sap someone(usually a healer) then either:
1. my teammate is doing well on the other char, and I try to just keep the person I started out on out of the fight with CS/blind/KS or w/e seems appropriate...
2. start running to their teammate, then typically spamming mutilate until I get a decent KS, then mutilate/gouge, mut until I can get a 5cp envenom off.
Any chance at adding the caps of stats generally rated by importance? i.e. hit 10% crit 50%.... I have no idea what they are and just have problems searching for them. I have noticed that sometimes my CS misses... my hit is at 6.52 in my pvp gear set, any idea? Also I've had a lot of rogues tell me to get some haste.. but have no idea what is too much or just enough.. (i did see the 1k resil is good and 1.1k is prolly what I will try to sit at)
I seem to always get pwned by mages. I either am trying to sneak up and they have a 6th sense and do a arcane/fire blast before i can get close enough or I do get to them, but they trinket out of it frost nova me and either I get burned down or end up polymorphed for most of the match. Any tips there?
Thanks for the info you already posted. I have already made a few changes. I'd give it a 10/10 for people new to pvp like myself.
There are slight faults to this guide but I guess it's ok for beginners. Let's you get the grasp of it.
But if i were you find a better partner. Practically almost every other class besides war/dk is easy 2k in 2s. IMO I find a feral cause I think it's the easiest 2k comp (in 2s anyways). Sap and burst the other person. Just avoid AoEs and you'll be fine. Rogue/Feral/Sham isn't bad for 3s either. Ran that to 2600 (although got jewed out of glad by one rank >.>). Haste isn't much of a factor for PvP but the pvp hit cap is 5%; 7% to go through skills such as Heightened Senses. Mages are a huge fustration for rogues but CoS>Vanish>Sprint>CS. Once they blink (you still should have Sprint up) go ahead and 5CP KS them. Blind their healer and gg. Berserking in OH isn't very viable because TWC reduces disarm by 50%. (The extra hit is also good so you can focus on AP gear.) Just find a more viable comp and you'll be fine.

Rogue, warrior, shadowpriest and markhunters have disarm.
50% reduction on disarm is a must and the additional hit on it is great aswell.

Start off with a sprint + tricks and try to get a sap off.
Open on the other target and pressure it.
The thing you have to do is make someone use his trinket and than reset/swap on one while the other eats a full blind.
Rogue/warrior is a terrible comp since you are missing pretty much everthing except a good nuke.

You need atleast 5% hit and preferable something around 8% (to counter miss talents), you should acquire this mostly from pve gear.
But there is nothing wrong with using the pvp hit stuff when first starting out (or you'll be low on resilience).
Urgh there is no set amount of crit, haste or ap you should have.
It all depends on which pvp gear u switch out for pve.
Aka which being the biggest dps increase.

If they trinket the sap, than resap.
Also keep a safe distance after a sap, but not too far so you can resap.

Its open for suggestions.

Imo you blow too much cooldowns for just one reset.
You just used cloak, vanish AND sprint.
What i do is:
Cheap shot -> mutilate asap -> cloak/sprint/vanish, never all 3! (max 2, seriously) -> kidney.
At this point they iceblock and you reset.
Than you start this over again with cds left.
Edit:
Wanna make clear that even one of these are enough.

Nope, not if it ends of the match.
Iceblock is meh. If you run with a Priest they can dispel it.

You still have all those cds at the end of a match against a frost mage to finish him off?
I'd like to transfer to your bg group.

Since when did we start assuming that there is a priest?
weapon swapping in arena viable?
should i be doing it for poisens? vs beast cleave?
Depends you can use a swap macro, but than you'll have to respecc to put points in imp eviscerate.
Only worthwhile using against cloth teams.
