Just wondering if this phenomenon is widespread or simply a few isolated cases...
LFD. Everyone has a gearscore of 5000+, so we're cruising along. The healer types "Kings please." The ret Pally isn't paying attention, so the healer asks again. Then, 30 seconds later, the healer: "Still no Kings..."
I'm getting annoyed, so I tell the healer to just drop it. The Pally is flakey, but it's not like we need the buff. Let's just focus on the run.
The healer says that I shouldn't talk like that to the healer, "or else end up with a repair bill." I say a couple unpleasant words and stop getting healed for the rest of the instance (H UP). I just bandaged myself and popped energized regen and drank health pots.
So... healers, do you expect preferential treatment? Do you think you're special?
Asking for a buff isn't "preferential treatment." You're the one who mouthed off for no reason. You were in the wrong. I get this kind of crap on my tank all the time. If I ask for a buff or, heaven forbid, a decurse or debuff removal, I expect you to click the button. I'm not asking for special treatment. I'm asking you to fulfill your role in the instance.
Hes not talking about asking for a buff is Perferential Treatment. He means that if he didnt get one, the healer thinks he has the right to stop healing him because some healers, and that healer think their all that and mighty important so they call the shots and "own" everyones lives, and healers should be treated with respect even if they're an arse because "everyone needs heals".
At the same time. Tanks ( I being a tank/heal spec pally) and dps are what keep healers alive. Sure if a tank sucks, a dps can tank for him. But heals cant take a hit worth &*!@.
Bottom line. I being a healer aswell:
We are all just tools used to get everyone where they wanna go as a group. If you find something you dont like. You can leave, but you DO NOT cost other peoples time or gold just because your upset. Nor do you stop fulfilling your dutys just because things dont go your way.
Plus, 10% or no 10% it doesnt make any difference if you're way over geared for it.

For all intents and purposes people can pretend I don't exist - actually prefer tanks that just go ahead and keep chain-pulling at their own pace rather than proclaiming MB every time I am below 80% mana. We are healers people, we have ways to regen mana believe it or not.
As far as buffs go I always do my group Fort, Spirit and Shadow Res more as a force of habit than anything else. And I don't expect to get any buffs in return. However that's rarely the case - people seem to have a moral code where they buff the person who has buffed them first.

DPS whining is partially understandable, though. Giving a melee DPS 10% more strength and 10% more agility (and 10% more intellect for enhancement shamans) is going to speed the run up by quite a bit. Giving a healer 10% more intellect and spirit is not really going to make much more than a negligible difference in the time of the run.
There's no such thing as a DPS cap. I still don't have any boss kills in single digit values of seconds in heroics yet, and I want to have some of those. There is, however, an amount of healing, or an amount of mana regen, past which point any more doesn't help anything. At least in simple five mans with incredibly overgeared tanks.

True, Pezz, except when you're getting near to that cap as healer, you start DPSing to fight off ennui.
I personally consider buffs a sort of courtesy in most fivemans. I'd never drop group over not getting a buff in those cases, but I'd be badgering the buffer until he at least said 'no' or we got through. And I never threaten anyone with not healing them, although if things go bad and I have to let someone go, obviously the mouthy one is more likely to be sacrificed. But not if he's the one trying to get aggro off me, for example. Actions speak louder than words.
But I also speak nicely to people. Why cause problems with attitude?

But even then, your boredom induced DPS is never going to come close to what a competent DPS can do.
Besides, I thought everyone just alt tabbed to the internet?

True, pezz.
I don't alt-tab any more. Not since that incident with the banana and the ringnecked parakit.

When I'm healing the only treatment I expect is protection from mobs and bosses so I can do my job. I never ask for buffs or help in healing. I would prefer to always have solid tanks that can control their aggro but it doesn't happen that way. If I get a new tank or a weak tank I sometimes whisper the strongest DPS and ask for off-tanking to help. That's it. Keeping everyone alive is my job, I do it without complaint. If I fail I apologize and I'm always ready with a BRez if I have it.

What does my Druid do when zoning into a Heroic? I check that everyone is in the instance and then cast Gift of the Wild. Same on my Priest with Fort, Spirit, and Shadow Protection. Same will be done on my Mage with Int, and my Paladin with Blessings. Why? Because it takes at most five seconds of my time, and the group benefits from it for the entire run, usually.

In ICC 5 mans... yeah. But 3.0 Heroics, coming from a fellow Holy Pally I laugh at you. You wear plate, have imba single target heals, and bubble...
I tanked Loken once, through about 5 novas, just healing with Flash of Light. Tank pulled while I was afk and I just spammed myself till eveyone ran back.

I was refering to ICC 5 Mans, even though he is talking about a much simplier and easier dungeon.
The point still remains. Is it your job to tank? Not as a healer its not. So if the tank $%^&s up, i better not see a healer jumping up to the plate just because he thinks hes the all healing god. Which wouldnt surpirse me if some healers tried, or did.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand....
lots of gets those eilitist and jerk additudes in LFD. You'd think it'd be easy for people to shut up, do thier jobs they spec'd for, do them right and let everyone get their frosts. Sure if someone is confused or doesnt understand something, help them out. But if someones a jerk because they didnt get a buff, thats just sad.
