I'm going to slightly necro this thread for lack of anything better to do while megavideo is on "cool down".
Time to quote the hilarious hypocrisy that is this guide.
Only a stupid person needs to go out of his way to act smart; real merits are recognized in their own right. Excessively meticulous grammar and syntax is pretentious and inappropriate for WoW.
Yesyesyes, this is a forum, not WoW. But if you think about it, you contradicted yourself right there in that quote.
Only a stupid person needs to go out of his way to act smart, and yet you use english collegiate style "syntax".
My high school English teacher didn't use such syntax in her AP courses. If you feel the need to use words like syntax (although I'm using syntax for lack of a better word because I don't feel like typing out "the way you speak") then you're going out of your way to sound smart.
If you can use phrases and words such as
- escalatory behavior
Chronologically
Circumlocutory
Highly transitory
You should at least
attempt to use language normal people wouldn't need a dictionary for.
I chose these words as examples because I could think of ways to dumb it down right off of the top of my head.
Escalatory behavior, there's a difference between this and aggressiveness, but it's so small that it isn't even worth the transgression. (Sometimes big words like that pop into my head and they fit so beautifully I feel compelled to stick them in there hehe)
Chronologically, god this one is pathetically easy: younger or older is my suggestion.
Circumlocutory- evasive.
Highly transitory, restless will get the same point across.
Other words such as unctousness, I know only generally what that means. It's bad sums up my knowledge of that word.
I am an absolutely voracious reader. However, I have yet to find a novel that is decently long (By decently I mean 800-1000 pages) that uses language that you have used here.
I get the feeling that you are trolling this in a rather unusual way.
Honestly, there is some good advice here, but the is just so much bloody CRAP to sift through in order to find the halfway decent advice it really doesn't deserve a sticky IMO.
Seriously, I'm about 95 % sure that you used the microsoft word thesaurus for every other noun or vowel in the blood guide.
Micromanagement is a good thing and all other bolded sentences that follow sound like something out of a fortune cookie.
What really made me lol was the fashion sense you have. You pretty much tell people that i they buy a shirt or a tabard from a vendor, they are a noob. People wear vendor tabards for a reason. I wear my guild tabard because it looks cool. Apparently I'm terrible at this game. I wear the tabard of the ebon blade on my ICC geared mage because I ever got around to getting rep for them until now. Apparently I shouldn't be running ICC because I suck.
I don't feel like spending 10g on a shirt that won't change my character's appearance significantly, so I am OBVIOUSLY a complete idiot.
Gearscore is a bad mod, by a bad player, for other bad players to use. This is the reality, it is the only reality, and anyone who has any divergent opinion is both wrong and a bad player.
Seriously, that is just stupid. Maybe I'm only being logical here but....Gearscore is a tool, and should be used as a tool. You say gearscore is bad, but do not mention wowheroes?
If I ever lead a pug, I would ask for gearscore requirements, simply because it is a judge as to how high a character's gear has come.
Here is how a pug should be conducted in /2
For fun:
LFM ICC10, laid back run, QQ or complain, and you'll get kicked, this is for !@#!'s and giggles, so don't be suprised if we wipe. 5k+ GS, know at least the first wing please.
For progression:
LFM ICC10, Progression run, be able to raid for ___ hours, know fights up to _____. 5.6k+ gs required, PST.
Then using gearscore as a judge of how high a person's gear is, go onto wowheroes and look them up. If they have gotten achievements in ICC and wowheroes say they are geared for it, give 'em a shot.
Obviously in either case if they pull under 5k DPS with a 30% buff, they should learn to play thier class. You'd have to put out around 3.7-3.8k DPS without the ICC buff in order to pull 5k DPS in ICC according to my 10 seconds of math in my head lol. That isn't that hard when you consider the buffs you get in a raid environment.
So anyway, if you ARE trolling, then
I really don't care if I'm feeding you or not, as long as you are smart enough to understand what I'm saying.
If you aren't trolling, see above.
