You know, it's not entirely inconceivable that the various races' cultures are unique.
Blizzard do something origonal?

Be more believable if there wasn't such obvious representations to real world versions....and I'd still like to know why all Trolls are Jamaicans now.

Because people are ignorant on two counts:
1. They think all trolls are the same.
2. They think only Jamaicans have that accent-style.

It's really Blizzard who's not trying to be original; they just take certain aspects of Cultures and work them to fit the races: Look at the Pandarens which will be using a few different Asian ones to make up their civilizations.

Elves are heavily influenced by Asiatic cultures. Night Elves and Blood Elves both, while Blood Elves architecturally have more West Asian styles compared to the Night Elves East Asian look. The music sounds Indian, cultural themes, elements, connections with nature etc. are very similar to those in Asian cultures, with native American elements.

To me nelfs aren't asians either...when u think how Blizzard is creating this game, using Tolkien and celtic + nordic religion, i would consider nelfs as Picts...they have every celtic markings plus female nelfs have painted or tatooed face...as Picts use to have. Consider all thet i would say that Blizz had Picts as rolemodel for nelfs. Draneis are Romanian gypsies, way they talk is hollywood romanian plus they have no home, and they were moving constantly from palce to place (in this case planet). Goblins are defo south Italians, from Napoli to the south...Mafia, Camorra...they would sell they mother for couple of shinies plus they don't have any scrupule at all...their racial shoul be "every goblin for himself" cause that is what goblins are. As for undead i thin them mostly as punkers..."live fast, die young and be a nice corpse" thing...plus they really looks like punkers from 70's...allways on drugs, cigs and alcohol...skinny bastards...and they started from England

I've never really seen any Viking references to the Dwarfs; Scottish and Irish, all the time sure, but where did you get Nordic?

The only Nordic viking dwarf reference I can think of would be the three guys in uldaman, Eric the swift, Baelog, and Olaf.

Which in term is a reference to an earlier Blizzard game:
The Lost Vikings.
