What do you think of a talent in deep enh tree that make totem buff 100 yard radius, like unleashed rage and elemental oath, that should help to attatch the tanking buff to totems.
Whit stone skin(buffed like you said), searing(whit the incoming buff to make more TPS), cleanase or healing stream(depending, if poison is constant) and winfury and grounding. Tanking is possible whit some not too great changeĀ“s.
You would still need to hit the totems before you taunted. That's 1 GCD before you can be an effective tank. If there's a surprise pull you have to hit the totems and then taunt. If you hit the totems beforehand and it's a gib worthy boss, that's one dps dead. If you don't hit the totems and it's a high damage mob, that's you dead.
The current immobile totem system doesn't fit well with tanking.

Blizzard likes mixing things up... going with different approaches. I agree that our mobility is a definite issue that would need to be overcome. Perhaps the answer to that would be some Shaman ability that would bring the mobs to us? (And I'm not necessarily talking about copying Death Grip here) Either, by ranged, threat-generating attacks or by some other means.
Digging into the lore, the first Orc warlocks were Shamans first. How about the ability to use teleportation in some fashion? Either, bringing our enemies to us, or bringing us to them.
I can dream, right? ;-)

IMO, I hope they do it to try and help relieve the tank shortage. There is no tank shortage; my randoms always have one, and there's always 3-5 online for guild raid runs.
Why should I send food to poor countries? Lawl I have plenty of food right here, I'm sure they do too!
ITS SCIENCE!
You're now my sig

Roll a Goblin Tank and Leap.
I think it would be a good idea I had my brother in law that pulled alot of aggro in his enhanced spec so the TPS is there. The only problem is that your also have Hunter Tank's. ( But parry helps my pet with its attacks) With the toons that I currrently have my hunter can roll on any weapon (not counting range)but maces reguardless of the weapon stats. And some of the 1H weapons in Icc would be nice tank weapon(s). But again if there going to do this then bring back Rogue tanks.

We already have a "
taunt
"... :P
If it was viable I would actually use this to solo instances etc... I am a healer at heart and prefer not expose other people to my tanking abilities (or lack thereof). ^_^
rofl my capta is "xpasb" asb is the abbreviation for please in my home language. "XP Please"!

There's plenty tanks and healers, too bad they get swamped by people I rather not want to classify as DPS. People what cann't do 2k DPS in T9 should be unable to engage as DPS in a group. Being excluded from instances is no issue; these people will receive a couple of items by mail, every day.

Shaman are just not built for it, they have nothing interesting going for them to be tanks.
Rogues/Warlocks/Hunters are better candidates -- I would personally love to see Rogue dodge-tanks or Demo tanks that "take turns" between Meta tanking and their Felguard/Voidwalker taking the hits.

we dont have a taunt (dont link frost shock cuz it aint) let aside an aoe taunt
I wasn't serious about the taunt, hence me putting it in quotes. Just to clarify.
TBH I don't want a "tanking" spec. If they give us some abilities in that direction I won't complain too much. Instead of that why not buff up our pocket tank? or maybe disconnect the elementals from the totems and give them as summon-able pets? Mage gets Water elemental (grrr) why not give us our Earth&Fire as pets?
I think they should:
- change the water elemental on the mage to the one that Khadgar sends to escort you through Shattrath in the quest "City of Light". OR Change it to an
Ice Elemental
- Then give the Shaman's the ability to have Earth/Fire/Air/Water elementals as pets.
So basically elementals can also be like "mobile totems":
- Earth - Stoneskin Totem + Strength of Earth Totem?
- Fire - Totem of Wrath + Magma Totem?
- Air - Windfury Totem + Wrath of Air Totem?
- Water - Healing Stream Totem + Mana Spring Totem?
Or just change the totems to elementals and ditch totems completely... meh... *pours gasoline on himself and waits for the flames*
EDIT: Fixed some stuff.
