Blood Elf Priest RP Question...

So I'm considering rolling a blood elf priest on an RP server, and I sort of have an idea about what I want to do, but I wanted your opinions on whether this would be acceptable or not.
Basically, my priest would treat the Light (or Shadow) as "just another type of magic". In other words, they'll treat it as a mage treats the arcane. In other words, a Light-mage (or Shadow-mage). Now, because of the culture of the blood elves, I figured this would work well. But the reason why I'm asking is if it would be any different after the events of the Sunwell.
Would it be feasible to say that while my character knows of the events of the Sunwell, they still treat it as "just another type of magic", since in a way it is (since blood elves seem to draw their power from the Sunwell)?

Well, they major problem is that, with Light at least, there seems to be some form of an outside intelligence (possibly the Naruu, possibly the light itself.) And, this light doesn't seem like it would be a fan of being simply used.
I don't see a problem with the Shadow. It is just a Lock by another name.

Yeah. With the Light, no matter who your are, you have to revere it to a certain extent (with a notable exception being the Blood Elf Blood Knights, pre Sunwell, of course). So, with the Light, your plan wouldn't work, but with the shadow it works just fine.

The Blood Elves still follow the Light, or at least the Priests do, similar to the High Elves.

From what I read, it seemed like the Blood Knights thought they were just using the Light when in reality it was allowing itself to be used (so to speak).
I mean, my character would revere the Light, but not in the same way as other races (they would see the Light as a power so awesome that it should be revered, but not necessarily "kneel down and pray to it").
I figured the Shadow would work just fine, but it's not as fun to be a "shadow-mage" than a "light-mage".

Yeah, but I figured that Blood Elf society would look at the Light somewhat as another form of magic, since each race seems to have its own way of following the Light.

Most of them don't though; it's not impossible for your Elf to decide to see it a different way, but they wouldn't see it as just a different source of Magic, as Mu'ru aside, it's nearly impossible to feed off the Light like you can with the Sunwell and other sources of Arcane.

It seems plausable. Just make sure he respects the light as an awe-inspiring magic.
If one loses faith it seems to leave them fairly quickly.

True. I just figured that since the Sunwell was filled with Light energy that they would be able to sort of feed off it like they did before. Or is it still arcane in nature but just reignited with Light energy?

Yeah, that's basically what I'm going for.
