Macro works when clicking, but not when using keybinding

I made a disease macro for my DK, so that I can use 1 button to put up both disease:
#showtooltip
/cast Plague Strike; Icy Touch
When I use it normally it puts up Icy touch, both when i click it and use the keybinding, but when I try and use the shift it only works if i actually click on the icon and not if i use my keybinding for it, which is a big pain because normally the bar that its on is hidden.
Is this a problem with my macro, or with the game, or what? I have a few other macros with in them and they work just fine and i cant figure out why this one is messing up

Is the keybind used for something else?

not that I'm aware of, it works for icy touch, just not plague strike

What Wikipedia means is that you have something bound to Shift and the button you're putting your macro on. Since keybindings take precedence over macro conditionals.
Go into your keybindings page, find something not bound to anything, and then bind it to Shift and whatever button you're hitting for your macro. Then clear that binding and try again.

Regarding finding keybindings.
I find it easier to just bind some key to the related bind and then clear it, that way you don't have to hunt it down in a some-what organized list that looks more like a ascii-table..

Pretty sure that's what I told him to do XD

I tried to bind a random thing to shift (i think it was toggle view 3), and it wouldnt let me bind it to shift, the plague strikes part works if I hold shift then click it so i dont think it would be a problem with shift being bound.
Also, on a some-what, but mostly not related note, I use bartender, and it wont let me use my keybindings when I'm in a vehicle, i have make the bar show then click on it, if i try to use my keybindings, i just get a "cant do that right now" message. Like in gunship instead of just hitting my 1 button to shoot, i have to go into bartender enable bar 1, the click on it to make it do anything.
Just figured seeing as I'm trying to get this other problem with macro/UI fixed i'd see if you guys have ideas on this one at the same time

Geesh, I blame it on me being tired.

Might be bartender then... try updating/removing the addon and seeing if it works then. That macro in the OP is well formed and should function just fine.

I re-installed bartender through the curse client, the macro still doesnt work, havn't tried a vehicle

afaik, you need to set Bar1 to vehicle for it to work properly in vehicles.

Shift itself cannot be keybound; what needs to be checked is your shift+(insert key here).
Idk about Bartender, but shift+1 through shift+6 or+8 goes to action bars 1through 6 or 8 and makes them your current main bar. You'd have to unbind that (as has been said) to make a shift+# conditional work.
That being said shift+# is only safe if it's above 6 or 8 or you've unbound the previous binding for that combo. Shift+(insert any letter here) is always safe (I think) since there aren't any default bindings for shift+(any letter or punctuation) AFAIK.

alright, so i got the plague strike to work, thanks to everyone on that. Just wondering about the vehicle thing now, how do i set bar 1 to vehicle?

I think, in Dominos, the vehicle bar is which ever one you've assigned to be the possess bar.
