Trade chat...

So we all know the basic equation, internet+anonymity=some word probably filtered by wowhead. Recently on my server, which is low population, trade chat has taken a turn for the worse. It's just constant name-calling with a few people picking on one person or a group of people spamming crap about some guild they think that sucks etc.
Now I've been playing for about 2 1/2 years. I use trade to keep an eye out for deals helpful to making money for my professions or to find someone that can craft something I need or maybe cut a gem/enchant something if I'm not too bothered doing something else. The point is, I like leaving /2 open because at any time I might find something going on that is beneficial to me. Like the other day when I got a good deal on a bunch of cardinal rubies when I couldn't find any on the auction house.
The point of this is, the impression I've gotten from reading forum posts here and elsewhere is that all trade chats on all servers are generally created equal. I'm so fed up right now that last night I considered possibly switching servers with one of my characters just to see if the grass is just as brown and dead everywhere else as it is on my server.
TL;DR Is trade chat absolutely horrendous everywhere? Or are there certain servers where it's not that bad relatively speaking?
US player by the way.

RP servers are no better, unfortunately. I play on a number of the North American RP realms, and they all have a significant quota of childish and abusive players who collectively make up 60-70% of the traffic in Trade chat. (It's always the same names, day after day, right?)
A bit of immaturity and joking around is fine - you have to remind yourself that it's just a game, and a lot of the playerbase are young boys and girls so you can't expect too much from them.
But it's depressing to see such a constant stream of rudeness and bullying and selfishness and even hate-speech directed at a particular nationality or gender. Of course you can /ignore the offenders, but turning your back on it doesn't stop the frustration of knowing that these people are continuing to drag down the standards of a wonderful game and sour the experience for hundreds of others. But what else can you do? I've tried opening in-game reports with a GM in some extreme cases, but after a few hours I eventually log for the night with the ticket going unanswered and abandoned.
There's probably little that can be done. :) WoW (and other online communites, even these very forums) are a window into the ugliness of human nature - the cloak of anonymity lets people reveal the greed, arrogance, and anger that they (presumably) suppress in their day-to-day lives. But as long as you can remind yourself of all of the
good
friends you've made along the way, and all of the
happy
experiences you've had... then I guess you can get over it. :)
Turn off /2 for a few months, and go organise some raids or pre-made BGs with like-minded players. Good luck and have fun! ^.^

It's simple, really- you have three options:
1. Disable trade chat
2. Enable trade chat and /ignore the trolls
3. Pull up your panties and deal with real people on the internet.
Or maybe I'm just missing the point of this thread...
I actually agree with everything, save calling them "real people". I've had the rather interesting opportunity to meet someone from a former MMO I played; the guy was a complete
burro
in general chat, but when I met him in real life, he was rather shy and not anywhere near the loudmouthed blowhard he was online.

The failness of Trade is entirely a function of server population. More people = more morons feeding off each other's auras of stupidity. From there the aforementioned
John Gabriel's Greater Internet F***wad Theory
applies.
To whoever said RP servers, they are no better in this regard. I play on one and still have to shunt Trade off to a second tab most of the time.
Just keep reporting the idiots. Use the Report Spam right-click function, as that also auto-ignores the player until you log off, and it gets escalated quickly if a bunch of people use it on the same player at once.

I just ignore the people on trade, only respond to profession services or LFM raid advertisements.

This is it in a nutshell. In the dark, by themselves, they seem to find a courage they forever lack in real life. I mostly pity these people.

If it's the same people, you just hit them with report spam when you first log in, and your good for your wow playing time... you'll just have to do it again the next time you log in/after an hour(not sure what the real time limit thing is).
