If you choose Druid you can choose between DPSing (both melee and spell), tanking and healing. Also, feral druids have the same basic mechanic that rogues have, with the additive to be able to tank or have a secondary spec for either Range DPS (Balance) or Heal (Restoration).

Druid can literally be everything.... Tank, healer, melee, or range.
Rogues can just sneak around and do amazing dps.
Your choice.

My first toon was a rogue, and I loved him. I leveled sub 1-80, and then switched to the standard mut spec to raid. I didn't even want to make an alt.... until I played a druid. Druids are basically super-rogues! With a rogue, it is really easy to get overwhelmed by just an extra mob or two. A druid just goes bear and lives forever. No bandages or food stops needed due to self healing. and after lvl 60, all those quests where you sneak around for an hour collecting crap like crash site parts, you just fly over in flight form and pick them up in seconds.
Add to all that the fact that you can tank, heal, range or melee at will, and solo older dungeons and raids with ease (you can with a rogue too, but not nearly to the level or with the ease that a druid can). My rogue is pretty much camped at Dal now playing the AH and doing his daily epic gem transmute. My druid is closing in on the end game (currently 78). I'd already be an 80 with him, but made a Warlock, and have been ripping it up with him lately.

Remember that Kitty DPS is VERY hard. It also doesnt even get close to good until you hit 50. I dont think ive ever seen a Kitty druid higher than 4th or 3rd in the DPS charts and im a level 75 who does a lot of dungeons.
Good points are it is a good soloing class as you have Kitty form for your damage, then if things get tough you can pop an instant Heal Over Time and shift to bear form. (Which is like changing from cloth armor to plate armor).
You can also do everything. Seeing as most healing spells are granted to every single druid (including a combat ress!), every single druid has a normal ress, combat ress, AoE heal, HoT, single heal and so on.

A friend of mine levelled a druid and a rogue, one after the other.
She absolutely HATED levelling the rogue, just didn't seem fun, but with the druid, there was always the option to swap role if she wanted a change of pace.

There's a sample of a fight that is as close to Patchwerk for melee and ranged as possible. Ferals are
very
good provided the right gear and skill so please, don't let them convince you ferals are bad.
