What will happen to the secret mountain places?

You may or may not have heard of a few places in this game which require a huge walk to get to, such as the gnomish airfield and the dancing troll village. I wanted to know if anyone has any idea why they're there and if they're going to be used in cataclysm?

So they're going to be used in Cat?

I hope they add places where there are no Flying Mounts... I loved having secret places to go to on my ground mounts.

Dancing Troll Village will be a Horde outpost of some sort in Cataclysm. Although it might just be an area for newbie Night Elves to kill things and certainly won't have any Horde quests, as the place is still the Night Elf 10-20 zone.
Ironforge Airport is an unknown right now. They might just tweak it a bit so it makes more sense when you are on ground level (ie, no more perpetually waving dwarf or tunnels that lead nowhere), or they could use it as a transportation hub of sorts. I could definitely see Alliance transportation to Vashj'ir originating from there.
Other areas will either remain decorative, or be integrated into the zones themselves. In this case both Stonetalon and the Blasted Lands are gaining access to their own coastline.

Like I said, IF Airport is under Dark Iron siege...
Ooo.... Interesting.
Do you know if there are any quests related to it, or is it still just decorative? Although it does mean that the Dark Irons are trying to gain a foothold practically on top of Ironforge, which is interesting from a lore perspective regardless.

I would suppose there will be quests related to stop the attack from the dark iron for level 5-10 Dwarves and Gnomes.

I hope so too. One of the things that Azeroth had that Outland and Northrend didn't was a plethora of secret areas that could only be accessed by especially knowledgeable travelers. The "hidden areas" were few and far between in Outland and Northrend, and being able to fly to them didn't give quite the same satisfaction that discovering things on foot did.
