Nothing but good stuff in here.
Two minor corrections: Soft haste cap for disc is 151 with BT up, but that's splitting hairs. Also, H. Princes is not exactly easy :)
Mention Rapture trick & you're g2g.
Good job.

As far as professions go, Enchanting, Leatherworking, Inscription, and Alchemy all give just as much sp as Blacksmithing. However, JC still gives 2 more sp than any of the previous and remains BiS.

Nitpicks in no particular order.
Using San'layn Ritualist's Gloves over Sanguine Silk Robes as non-tier means you're trading haste for haste plus socket instead of crit for haste plus socket, relevant if you don't aim to get more haste than soft cap with BT for whatever reason. If you have access to 25man heroic loot it's actually impossible to get below 151 haste without sacrificing sp because there are no 277 legs or gloves without haste on them (besides the shadow tier legs, which have hit on them) - and together those two items get you over even using 251 legs and 264 gloves.
Alchemy gives extra stats for your current choice of flask, unsure what you mean by flexibility.
Darkweave should be mentioned by name and moved down to noteworthy perks since it's "more than just a stat increase". Or just link it in the word proc. Idk. :p
Unsure if it's what Paolo means with rapture trick but
if you're having mana issues you can shield a tank inbetween shielding raid in order to take advantage of Rapture's 12sec icd where applicable (I refer to Paolo's link below).
I could offer a few more comments on gear but I'm unsure how far you want to take gear advice. Either you outline and explain what you should look for in gear, mention something about tier
(use it or die )
and leave it at that for people to figure it out themselves or you make a more extensive list covering the common items you'd have access to at a particular gear / tier level.
Awkward to leave it halfway between, if you ask me! If you're linking the crafted 245 chest
(I'd personally get Moonshroud, but eh, people for whom they'd be upgrades would get a billion times more value out of the haste than I would)
, why not link the crafted 245 bracers? Extrapolate ad infinitum. On a related note I do believe it's proper to only cover Lich King specifically under fights since that if anywhere is where a normally holy priest would respec / be forced to respec disc.
There isn't any disc gear thread around that I know of, actually, if you feel like expanding on the topic. There's a pre raid disc gear list linked in the disc thread linked in the sticky (
http://www.wowhead.com/forums&topic=46719
) but neither the original thread nor the post are updated by the looks of it. Samanosuke hasn't been on for almost a year, actually, so you / we / anyone should probably ask to have this thread replace that link when you're happy with it.

Oh. That!
holy crap dude did you seriously get 22 simultaneous rapture procs? I can see that happening on a fight like Torvon if you timed it REALLY well and nobody got hit by the orbs...

It's from an infest on heroic LK; probably a "lucky" one in regards to timing, meaning he was likely spawning ghouls right after the cooldown on infest ran out allowing me to get two shields extra up beyond the usual four groups I cover. I confess I didn't really look owing to the near non-existent margin to get all shields up even playing with very low latency. If you run a query to show power gains for my priest on
this
log you'll see that most infests I only have 17-19 shields up in time (the previous example is from a different log).
On topic, the pre raid gear list looks like it's coming along well. I'd suggest universally ordering them by item level and dropping the hit items where there are alternatives from emblems. I'd also suggest using unordered lists for all items (including gems and trinket in the beginning of the post) even though there's relatively few under each section. Looks neater. :)
Minor nitpicks owing to my mild OCD for proper spelling and formatting; you can easily fix the capitalisation of "Emblems of..." with the replace function in notepad replacing f.e. "emblem of triumph" with "Emblem of Triumph" with the case matching turned off, the punctuation of short descriptions (gems, tier set bonuses and profession perks) and the drop locations from the gear list (spaces and dashes) is inconsistent and you missed a > between crit and haste under stat priorities. Very well written post in general, though.

Also on the comment about Trauma, I have seen many people get burned for this as the majority of my server (Scilla) looks at this more of a Druid/Shaman weapon with the waterfall to other healers. I would suggest using the Frozen Bone Spike off Marrowgar 25 as it might be easier for some to gain.
^ Agreed. It's better for Druids and Shamans and Frozen Bonespike is a bit better itemized anyway. Heroic version is in the top 3 for best in slot

Heroic version is in the top 3 for best in slotWhile Trauma is better for those classes, it's still very good for disc. SP + heal proc > SP + spirit + crit, at least for bubble-bots. How much are you getting from that spirit? That crit?
And since disc gears up purely by spell power anyway, which maps to iLevel (see the gearing section in the OP), BiS is basically an issue of iLevel.

(no socket). You can do the same analysis with staves, and/or compare staves to MH/OH the same way.
Ten-man raiders have a different tale to tell. Spell power is not the be-all/end-all stat in that context.
Also, re PvP: it's actually a happy coincidence that you forgot to reserve a post. The discussion will be quite different in that thread, so better to keep them separate IMO.

Yes, it's still very good for disc, but...
Not all disc priests are 'bubble-bots' who only cast 1 spell. Even still, the Frozen Bonespike has more intellect (and regen) than Trauma, which is something that these bubble-bots need as well. In the interest of keeping stats well-rounded for those times that you actually throw a heal, having a high crit rating is also a good thing.
The proc on Trauma has a lower chance of proccing because you'd really only be proccing it off Prayer of Mending or Glyph of Power Word: Shield, and if you're pre-shielding then the heal from the glyph won't do any effective healing and Trauma won't proc. It's just better for AOE healers from several standpoints.
