Hi,
Went to Un'goro. Scouted around for a Devilsaur. Found one. Abandoned my Pet and then Freezing Trap and Concussion shot. The cast Tame Pet on it.
Uhhhhhhh...not a legal target.
Damn. I don't have Beast Mastery yet :(
The only good thing was, I managed to run away and not die.
*sigh* what an idiot.
Cheers.

Ouch, Also be careful what Devilsaur you do end up taming. One of the red ones is immune to Traps.....its not fun trying to tame him.

Well as said, it depends on what you like. When i first got devilsaur it was a MASSIVE shock. i had to do single target pulling instead of massive tanking like i did with my bear. However, it now goes like this
With my bear i would send him in and get like 8 - 10 mobs on him and spend about 3 - 5 mins killing all of them. With my Devilsaur i send him in to attack one mob, spend about 10 seconds killing him then rush to next mob. Once you get used to that, Devilsaur is a LOT better.

A devilsuar has the highest single-target dps of any pet currently tameable in-game. Just about any tenacity pet can effectively aoe tank. Take that how you will.
P.S. If it takes 3-5 minutes to kill 8-10 mobs, you're doing it wrong. I had the same pulling method, but by the time the 5 minute mark rolled around from the initial pull, I've killed and skinned that pull, the next one, and am about halfway through killing the third one.
Devilsaurs are totally awesome though, I will say that much =) Unless I'm specifically going out to solo an old instance or farm skins, I'll use my dino over my bear.

You are right about Devilsaur having the highest DPS in the game though. Devilsaur also has all of the Ferocity tree
"Lulz, You cant kill me"
talents like

Would I be better off getting a Devilsaur? (In terms of leveling)
In terms of leveling, I wouldn't go with a ferocity pet. Tenacity pets tend to hold aggro better and have more health in general. You want to be the one doing most of the damage while your tank takes the hits.
I personally ended up using a warp stalker all the way to level 80. Their teleport and increased avoidance free's up some talent points that can be used on other dps talents plus their teleport uses no focus so they can use that for more threat. The problem I found with any pet with the heirloom bow was that I pulled aggro pretty quickly. This lasted all the way till 70 till I got MD. By then I was so used to the warp stalker that I just kept him.

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that this story has a happy ending.
Getting to lvl 74 I finally got my 51st talent point in Beast Mastery and picked up 'Beast Mastery'. Headed off to Un'Goro after stabling my pet, found another Devilsaur, and 20 seconds later, it was mine!.
It looks so cool!
Cheers.

Why did you wait until 74 to get it? You can learn BM at 60

Because I'm using a XX/14/4 build and had already put 14 points in MS.
No problem. Much easier to tame at 74.
Cheers.

If you outlevel the 55-56 elite Devilsaurs at 74, it's much easier to tame them.
You could also get the
lvl 71 Netherstorm one
which imo looks much cooler. He's a normal mob and very easy to tame.
