Queggy isn't (at least I don't think he is). He posted something in the "Why your religion thread" iirc. I think it was about the trinity.

Oh, never mind =P
'angles,' that is, the divine version of Stalin's special police.
1. Angels I think you meant =)
2. Have you read
Agents of Light and Darkness
by Simon R. Green? He shares your views.
3. I don't. I believe angels are good (they brought the Book of Mormon...)

I don't think you can classify an angel as good or evil; they just exist to do as God wills, except those of the Fallen.... them, they are just @#$%s.

What's the worst thing Ha-Satan's done? Given us knowledge?

The Fallen attempted to overthrow God and transform the world into madness. Had they been put into power, what supposedly happens in Hell, would happen all the time on Earth, 24/7, with no Good in existence.

Why should I believe in God?
You shouldn't. I don't think anyone cares if you do.
I care. But I also respect his opinion if he should decide whatever he wants.

Let me remind you this is in God's bible.
The winners write the history books.
I call for democracy! This is hardly a benevolent dictatorship. In fact, everything he supposedly does has lead me to believe the opposite.
Though personally the devil is just a total retcon. Ha-Satan was still working with God even after the apple incident, as he "accused" Abraham of being unfaithful. So God had Satan tell Abraham to sacrifice his son as a test, stopping him at the last moment to avoid loss of life.

Reminds me of a quote I heard at Church... it was from around 18...60's or so. I can't remember exactly.
I left the Church thinking I could hurt God and his Church, but after a long time I realized. God doesn't need me, but I need him.

The very Idea of a Heaven or Hell is flawed. Any god or gods that would reward or punish you for eternity for something you did in a small amount of time (50-100 years) on earth is nothing but malevolent, so why worship anything like that?
What about babies who die after being born? Do they go to hell?
According to church we are all born with original sin.
All in all, while I do not believe in god or gods, if you do that is fine, But to think that you will be rewarded/punished by him for what you do in this life is foolish. To be quite honest if there is a being of power in the universe who controls everything I highly doubt he would care what human #739276128 did in his short life.
Just my 2 cents.
Let me point out some things...
The very Idea of a Heaven or Hell is flawed. Any god or gods that would reward or punish you for eternity for something you did in a small amount of time (50-100 years) on earth is nothing but malevolent, so why worship anything like that?
Because it shows your true nature. Why do people count what you did in two minutes (murder) and lock you up for it? Because it shows part of your nature.
MyTie put it much better than I do.

Specify church please. I believe they go to Heaven.
And I believe the Original Sin is gone.
All in all, while I do not believe in god or gods, if you do that is fine,
Same here.
To be quite honest if there is a being of power in the universe who controls everything I highly doubt he would care what human #739276128 did in his short life.
Because that is why he is God, he is all knowing and all loving.

If you do everything right and get in to heaven, would you still be yourself? what If you lived by the rules set down by your faith.. but still loved say sex, would your heaven be you getting laid all day? It confuses me, because no two people really share the Idea of "heaven."

Just my 2 cents.
If I drown I will die. The thought that such drastic consequences would exist for staying underwater for so short an amount of time cause me not to believe in the ocean.
Just my 2 cents.

If I drown, I will die. The thought that such drastic consequences would exist for staying underwater for such a short time causes me not to believe that the ocean is not eternally forgiving, as I am told it is. The fact that I believe that this is not true leads me to wonder what else is not true.
Just my 2 cents.

How about this...
If you decide to breath air, it will never drown you. It will be eturnally supportive of your breathing needs.
Well.. this is getting ridiculous. It's just very apparant that no matter what, some people in this thread will pin the consequences of sin onto God, even though it is us that perpetuate sin, because God gave us the choice, which was necessary for love to exist.
So.... I'm going to stop trying to make the point. The arguements are relentlessly insisting on their own way.

In my world, Nature is Nature. It does not love, it does not hate. It is just the way things are.
In your world, God, an all powerful being, created the universe, including hell. If he wanted to, he could instead create a place where sinners can learn the errors of their ways, learn that God exists, and learn that he loves them. However, that is not what he did. He created a place where sinners go where they live forever on fire.
Also, why can't God give me some proof that he exists? I have absolutely
NO
reason to believe in him. And he'll let me go to the hell
he created
because I don't?

If you decide to breath air, it will never drown you. It will be eturnally supportive of your breathing needs. God requires faith. Do I simply need to attend Church? Or do I have to actually have to believe in God, something I am incapable of? Not only that, but you act as if Christianity is a fail safe. There are plenty of religion's that believe Christians will burn in hell, so how about I just join every Religion ever? What makes me think you're breathing oxygen, and not those crazy Nordic pagans who believe that you have to be a warrior in order to reach Valhalla?

That's not what I'm arguing. I'm arguing that God himself has committed sin, not in giving us the ability to commit sin, but he has directly committed sin. Why does an omnipotent God have to kill innocent Egyptian children to free his people? Wave your hand, and they have their own private island. Seriously, whoever wrote the Torah did not think things through. It's like reading Twilight. No matter what the author writes the main character is, it will not overshadow how his actions portray him.
Edit: Not to mention that you are all failing to appease God, because you aren't sacrificing animals to him.

my family is Catholic so that is the church I know best. And I was under the assumption that If you are not baptised then Original Sin is not magicly gone.
I believe the Atonement got rid of it.
