Noob priest needs some tips

I want to mainly do raids on my priest as holy, but I've never had a healer class before so I need some general tips, as well as some priest specific ones.
Right now only one question for general healing comes to mind.
As a healer, unless I'm healing the tank, should I only be concerned with healing the group I'm in? It would seem like a pretty daunting task to try and watch everyone in a raid.
Here is my planned spec for 80, proceed to om nom nom it.

(I don't know how to make the link tiny like I've seen in other posts, sorry lol.)
I'm not sure if I should get IMP fort. I was thinking if I joined a raiding guild, and it already had a disc priest in it with that talent that I shouldn't get it, even though the 4% stam could help. But then again I don't know what I'd put the extra two points into, body and soul maybe?

Top of the page it says read first before you post.
The stickies i have made all have spec's in there you should look at.
To answer your question, yes, you look at every single person in the raid. all 25 of them. your job is to keep them all up.
read the stickies, and post your questions in that sticky thread. you will get more response form it and you can look at other questions people have asked.

Start off by reading
Karl's thread
. It's a great beginner's guide.
As for your proposed talent build... Don't take this the wrong way, but it's pretty bad.
My thread
(hasn't been stickied yet) will give you a good rundown on how to make a workable talent build, with a few suggested builds thrown in there as well.
Or you can work off
Karl's template build
and put the last 7 points in somewhere that will suit you.

Unless you're a tank healer, your job is to keep the other 23 people alive, even the other healers. In a group of 25, however, you'll likely be running with 4 other healers so don't be discouraged by having so many people to heal, because you'll have lots of help.

Read the stickies...that spec is horrible. You won't last 30 seconds with that build on a boss fight....well, maybe a full 30 seconds. Get 3/3 Meditation or don't even think about asking to join my raid because you will be next to useless.
Take 3/3 imp Inner Fire as the other talents needed to get to Meditation. Skip the threat reduction.

New spec
Does anyone know what my mana regen would be while casting when holy concentration rank 3 procs, along with the 50% mana regen from meditation? It couldn't possibly be 100%.

Not sure what other number you think it could be. It is 100% and no, you can't pick up shadow talents to exceed 100%.
Edit: /cry I couldn't possibly play holy without Body and Soul, but there are people who differ in opinion.

Getting somewhere
I appreciate the advice, but I personally don't really need healing focus to level. I'm leveling with a hunter friend, so he handles all the mobs, in both questing and when the tank fails in lowbie instances. And getting it at 80 for raiding seems silly to me.
Empowered Renew
: Having at least 1/3 point in that talent is recommended, in order to have chances to proc Holy Concentration when casting Renew. You can skip it if you NEVER use Renew, but in that case, you should also have skipped Improved Renew. If you're going to use that Glyph of Renew, you might as well get the most of the spell and get 3/3 Empowered Renew...
Emp. Renew vs Emp. Healing
: However, if you do that, it will often mean that Renew will become your go-to spell, when everything else is on CD (as opposed to using Flash Heal in such situation), which would make 5/5 Empowered Healing pretty much useless, considering it would apply to spells you shouldn't be using all that much.
I was reading about that in the priest stickies here, but I wasn't really sure what to take a point out of and stick into empowered renew. I ended up taking a point out of Divine Fury, since I figure with serendipity and the inevitable haste I'll be getting, that one point shouldn't really make a difference. Really bothers me though having an incomplete talent lol.

Get used to it, or reroll another class. It's what we do.

Also get used to the idea of going back and changing your spec again a few more times in the future. It really depends on what role you find yourself in at level 80.
Are you going to be raiding 10 or 25-player stuff? You might have a guild with a reliable healing team and expect to have a druid taking care of HoTs, disc priest and/or holy paladin, and a shaman to snipe heals with...
The point is, you would want to adjust your spec depending on the style of healing which works best with your healing team. If you're going to PuG, however, you never expect who the other healers will be.
In any case, think about how you like to play your priest and the way you'd be healing. Each of a priest's healing specs has a slightly different playstyle, even within the Holy tree.

Healing Focus
it's one of those talent you don't need, until you need it...
Of course, the times you would need it most is on boss fights with any type of AOE ability or pulse damage which might otherwise cause spell pushback. Your heal gets pushed back or interrupted, tank dies, group wipes, you wish you spent those two talent points.
