If the druid is the one tanking, he won't be able to battle rez in most cases.

Why on earth would you need a battle rez leveling RAF? Trust me, from experience, get TourGuide and you'll level the fastest :)
I'm not saying you need it, it was just on the list of benefits that a druid tank brings, and I'm saying tanks don't normally battle rez.

If I were designing a four-person optimal group, I'd do this group, but I'm odd:
Warrior or Paladin tank - Both have better utility than feral druids IMO - and you're speaking as one who loves his feral tank.
Priest healer - For five man, Disc heals are awesome. If there wasn't already a Druid in the party, Resto is awesome too.
Mage DPS (OMG PORTALS! OMG WATER/FOOD!)
Feral Druid - Backup off-tank, backup off-healer, backup ranged DPS

This is my favorite group.
Tank: Paladin - I personally enjoy these the best when tanking, and they provide emergency utility with healing and rez
Healer: Druid: - Load up hots and do dps in between, also has emergency off-tanking ability and rez
DPS1: Mage - Good DPS and provides utility with food/water and portals
DPS2: Hunter - Good DPS and provides utility with emergency off-tanking pet
DPS3: Warlock - Good DPS and provides utility with soulstone, emergency off-tank pet depending on what pet you have, debuffs etc
That's just my take of course.

Personally, i would go for
Tank: Paladin
Healer: Shaman
Dps1: Mage
Dps2: Druid (Boomkin / Cat)
Dps3: Priest
That way, there is possibilities for shifting a little around aswell, if someone except the mage becomes tired of his/her role.
And you got a crapload of buffs too :P
I love hybrids, and i love Mage's water and portals :P

Tank: Warrior
Healer: Priest
Damage 1: Rogue
Damage 2: Shaman
First of. You'd want to have some spread on your characters when it comes to what gear you'll need. You may find it harder to obtain good gear if all of you rolls on cloth or perhaps swords. Make one Plate, mail, leather and cloth char to maximize your rewards. Based in this you should make a Warrior or Paladin as your tank (DK's can't stat at lvl 1). Then spread the rest based on items. Pick from your liking.
I prefer priests, holy priests, for the stamina and spirit buff. Also Circle of Healing will work brilliantly in small groups.
You may want some Crowd Control while doing the dungeons in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, so I'd chose a Rogue. Rogues also have a grand damage output so they pull all their weight.
The Shamans totems are always a welcome sight. They also deal good dps.
For tank I'd pick a Warrior. I've played Warriors a lot and I love it. Paladins are also great tanks. The auras and buffs are pretty helpful. It won't matter to much though if you decide to roll a Shaman.
