Same here with IE, but seems fine with both Firefox and Safari.

Whenever I try to go to any thread on this site, or click a hyperlink leading to anywhere on Wowhead, I get
this
notification. It doesn't happen on any other site and I'm using IE8.
Me too, it's pretty infuriating at times.

Yep, IE8 is bringing up this error, getting really annoying...and no, I will not use another browser :<

There's an issue with compatibility mode in IE and some of the scripts used all over here. Turn it off for wowhead and you should be fine.

If I type something into the reply box, the script reappears if I try to change pages within Wowhead.
That's intended. It's supposed to prevent you from accidentally navigating away and losing your text.
It should say
"You have started to write a message."
instead of
"null"
(or something else that should not appear). If it doesn't, please report it!

: I don't know if this has been suggested to you already, but you could try using
Firefox Portable
on an USB-stick!
Ah, working as intended then.
Good! :-)
