almost everyone is a feminist.Women are still paid anywhere from 60-80% of what a man gets paid in the USA and the rates of a promotion are far lower for women then men.
These two seem to contradict each other.
How? I don't see it.
Unless I'm unusually dense today...

Feminism is simply that women should be treated the same as men.
That's how it SHOULD be, but instead it's blown out of proportion so that women are raised above men instead of being equal.

Every person should be treated as a person instead of a man or a woman
The thing is.... Here it comes... we aren't just 'people'... we ARE men and women. Some things men are generally better at, with exceptions, and some things women are generally better at with exceptions. This is because, not as a rule, but as a general statement, men and women are different. It is only natural that we excel at some things above eachother.

I disagree. We shouldn't be treated the same because we aren't. I also disagree with people who say society should be 'color blind'. I think we should stay different, be treated different, and celebrate those differences, because WE ARE DIFFERENT.

Let me rephrase that:
Women and Men should be as equal as they can be. YES, each gender will have areas that they excel at more than the other and that's good. I mean, it was kind of foolish to not allow women to vote for so long. It's not like their gender had anything to do with whether or not they would be able to vote "properly." BUT, it did make sense to limit women from joining the military for so long due to the difference in their physique from men.
Not sure if that made sense or not.

Well... men and women actually have different brain structures. However, a black man can have almost exactly the same brain structure as a white man, the only difference is his skin tone (although that doesn't mean they will have the same brain structure, I don't believe that all racial groups have exactly the same distribution of genetic traits as every other group). XX and XY are fundamentally different, whereas the difference in skin color can be isolated to a smaller number of genetic traits.

True. But there are differences in background, and heritage. This might seem trivial at first glance, but how a person is raised makes a huge difference. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but they are different. Besides all that, there ARE physical differences between black people and white people besides skin tone. Again, one is not better than the other, but there are differences.

On average. I'm fairly certain black people and white people have almost the same genes if you were to look at all the genes that are in the population of black people and all the genes in the population of white people, only their distributions might be different - you might see a trait in one group more than the other.

Do you have a mainstream feminist source that says this? Fringe groups don't count. Until you do, I am a feminist, because I believe men and women should be treated as fully human, and nothing inherent in their gender should be used to form judgments about them.
Feminism n. the policy, practice or advocacy of political, economic, and social
equality
for women. (Bolding mine)
What you perceive fringe groups to be doing to the movement based on no apparent evidence =/= what that movement is about.
I am dead serious, show me a figure that disproves that.
And i don't speak only for the blacks of USA. last time i checked you weren't the center of the world, or the only important country in the earth
http://www.prb.org/Articles/2007/USRacialEthnicAndRegionalPoverty.aspx
First graph there, they took it from the U.S. Census Bureau
Here's another good one:
http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2008/04/minorities_economy.html
I'll pull out the relevant statistics:
In 2006, whites’ median family income stood at $52,423, which was 1.4 times higher than Hispanics’ median family income of $37,781.
In 2006, whites’ median income was $52,423, which is 1.6 times greater than African Americans’ median income in that year.
The disparity between the growth rates of the unemployment rates of the two races suggests that the current gap between the 5.6 percent unemployment rate for Hispanics and 4.1 percent for whites may continue to increase.
African Americans’ unemployment rate in 2007 was 8.3 percent—4.2 percentage points higher than whites’ 4.1 percent unemployment rate.
This goes on. For quite a while. There really isn't an economic or educational indicator by which you can say minorities have caught up to whites in America.

Heh, because the over all racism/socialism/classism that has existed since the United States of America was formed will always be here?

I believe that's actually a lot less of the deal. It's probably a logical thing.
The minority's ancestor was a slave.
Minority's next ancestor was not, but was extremely poor and faced lots of racism.
...
Minority's father/mother faces near to no racism, but being that their parents were poor, and their parents, and their parents, they end up in poor neighborhoods with bad schools, so the kids get bad education, become poor, and so the cycle continues. I do not think racism is so prominent as to effect something so drastically, at least not in New York.

No. At least where I live, racism is not a problem. I could see a few people getting turned down from jobs because of racism, but not entire majorities of races.
Then again, yours was very selective to the United States. It's a much bigger problem in say, South Africa.

Both of you are being subjective. Try to look at reasons why there is such a gap in income. Racism was brought up, and I'm sure there are still racist people. However, a black person DID get elected as president. That alone says times have changed.
Perhaps there are other reasons in addition to racism? What could they be?

Merely what's there in your history.

And where do you live? I'm guessing it's not Harlem.

Indeed what Orranis said, racism
might
be gone, but part of the problem is that a lot of blacks are poor, and if you're poor, you're less likely to get a better education (because you might not afford it, may have to work sooner, or the school systems where you live might just suck), meaning your kids will likely be poor, and so on. The situation is difficult to remedy fairly though.
