/Shrug Until it's proven 100%, I just go with what we have now, which is a choice of the mother.
This is all kind of beside the point here. The choice to get an abortion, while affecting the life of the mother, certainly isn't as weighty in the quality of life for a woman, as other factors, such as life expectancy, median income, obesity rates, etc.

What Elura said. Why do you think you have more insight into the matter than the women themselves?

If
a fetus really is a person (and a 30-week fetus really is pretty much a baby), then there should be laws in effect to protect their lives, rather than just letting any one individual make that choice.

I don't really feel that that's up to you to decide.
As in... how? Decide for who? I don't get it. I'm just trying to understand what influencial factors are. For instance, I wouldn't want to move my wife and I to some place that has low life expectancy, high crime rates, low income levels, etc etc, but allows her to get an abortion. Even IF we were pro abortion, we could travel to get it done and those other factors would STILL be important. I mean, to be practical, people look at crime rates of neighborhoods, and those other things when they move, not usually abortion law. So, why is this used as the largest indicator of women's quality of life?
And why can I not ask these questions? Why can I not be involved in that discussion? Are you going to come into each nuance of this thread, and make it not so subtly apparent that you don't believe I should be discussing it? I mean, come on. I'm not going anywhere.

The only people who should have any say at all in the case of abortion are the mother and possibly the father if he's around; everyone else, be it Pastor Bob or Rabbi Joe or Senator Jim, shouldn't have a say at all with what goes in their personal life.

But that's not the issue MyTie's bringing up, and that precisely what I said I don't want to talk about here.

A newborn baby has rudimentary thoughts and feelings and has all the right of a person. It's not about whether should Mom and Dad have the state come tell them what to do with their kids or not. Laws are created to protect the rights and lives of the people they govern. If a fetus is a person, mom and dad's wishes to kill it aren't lawful.

Least Capcom picked it up...though, to be fair, they've been running games with strong female leads(or at least co-leads) for years.

I think it's getting much better. When I was growing up, I played a lot of RPGs with male leads. Now I've been spoiled by MMO's, Bioware and Skyrim, and I don't know if I could go back to an RPG where I had to be a guy, because it would feel a lot less immersive. I think that as we move forward, the female choice for a lead character- at least in RPG's- will become industry standard (if it isn't already). But I personally think that being able to relate to your character in an RPG is a great part of the appeal for me and other people who play RPG's the way I do (inserting yourself into a story vs. people who play through stories of of other characters and see it more like TV), and so I can see why someone would prefer to have a character of their own gender.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

I've been playing Beyond Good and Evil, and Jade is quickly becoming one of my favorite video game protagonists ever, even though she's a girl and I'm a guy.

Should pick up Primal for the PS2 as well; I think Jen is a very well rounded female lead....wait, that probably came out wrong.
But yeah, except for a few titles, most games don't really drop any specific character in the old 'damsel in distress' position; heck Nintendo broke Princess out of that mold back in the SNES days with Super Mario RPG(or maybe that was Square's choice).
I'm about to have a seizure.

What's crazy is that 42% of females said that it would be okay if she excited him sexually. That's just bizarre that the percentages aren't just lopsided, but that that particular question had such a high percentage on
both
sides. What the hell?

If ever there was proof that real sexual education needs to be mandatory ie: Explaining the concept of rape and what really happens when you do have sex, the recent stuff in the news and articles like that just keep showing it.
