Sorry if this too stupid of a question, but not only am I am a noob, but math is not my strong point. I am a relatively new 80 and have been doing heroics to get emblems. In order for me to get the gear I want, it is going to take a while at 14 frosts a week. However, I see that you can get 83 a week in various weeklies, ten, and twenty-five mans. With that, here are my questions.
1) Should I take the Frosts I have now and turn them into Triumphs and fatten up on 232 gear; whether it be from the set or not?
2) If I do, is having gemmed, enchanted 232 gear enough so I can hang in the raids that award frosts?
Thanks in advance and I hear this path to epics is much easier than before and, @#$%, I can't imagine what it was like!

Frosts are WAY more valuable and hard to come by than Triumphs. If you need more Triumphs, just run multiple LFDs per day. You'll get 2 Frosts, and a bucketload of Triumphs.
Cheers.

I personally would keep the frost for iLvl 264, and T10 gear, and just keep farming the heroics for the triumph badges. it WILL take a while to collect the frost, but by doing the weekly raid, and maybe icecrown citadel it will speed up.
as for the gear, you can get pretty much ready for icecrown citadel just from buying gear with triumph, and gemming, and enchanting it.

1) No, keep your frost and run more randoms.
2) Yes, having almost all 232/245 gear is enough to pug ICC if you know what you're doing.
The weekly frost quests you see, I assume you're searching on Wowhead, are not all available every week. There are many options for the weekly raid quests which awards 5 emblems of frost (and 5 triumph). There are also weekly ICC raid quests again, each week only 1 10m and 1 25m are available. Since you won't be running ICC soon, these will not be available to you.
To build up your frost do your daily for 2, the weekly raid for 5, and try to PUG VOA 10 and 25 man for 2 each. Thats 23 per week available for anyone not running ICC. Once you get mostly 232/245 start trying to PUG ICC which gives 2 frost per boss.
Good Luck.

Yeah, I kept seeing spam in trade for __________ Must Die! and I read up on it to find out that I basically can't do it since I have substandard gear. That is why I started thinking about making the switch.
Courtesy of the universal, "NO!" I have received, I think I will just keep plugging along. At the very least, all of these runs sure are sharpening up my skills.

The only ones you'd see a no for should be Morrowgar and maybe Jaraxxus, the rest; the Naxx, Ulduar and Malygos, you shouldn't have a problem getting in, after all, those three were done by fresh 80's before.

The only time you want to trade Frosts for Triumphs is
if you happen to gear up your main spec and all possible off-specs and have no need for gold (primo saronite) and
... well..never.
