I'm sure I'm not the first person to suggest this, but would it not be a good move for Blizzard to set up some servers strictly for over/under 21s/25s/whatever?
Now, I'm not saying that all teenagers are Nerdraging morons, nor am I suggesting that everyone over a certain age is a pleasure to group with, but if someone's acting like a $%^& in a battleground or an instance, chances are they're the low side of 21.
I bet you love gearscore, I mean, it doesn't matter there are exceptions like the "I have 4.3k gearscore and I do 6k DPS!" whiners. Messuring maturity by age is like messuring skil by gear. Related but in no way certain.
But even leaving that aside, as a 35 year old man, there are lots of reasons why I'd like to see age specific servers:
let's see...
1. Kids kick my ass. Yeah, I said it. I'm not ashamed - i have a job, a wife, a house and a life. I can't compete with someone who spends 8 hours a day online, not in terms of gear and (usually) not in terms of playing skill either. It would be nice to compete on a level playing field with the similarly browbeaten.
the mainreason you lose to kids is because 16-18 year olds have the best reaction times, after that, it's al downhill in that area, this can mainly be felt in PvP. They would kick your ass in any game where reactiontime is important on, with other words almost any game thats RT(real-time)
Whining about gear these days is a huge sign of maturity for sure!
2. Kids are w**nkers. Okay I should qualify that generalisation by repeating my opening point - there are plenty of mature, pleasant players out there of all ages, but the one tosspot you end up having to /ignore is - 9 times out of 10 - a child of some description.
I don't know about you but I only know the age of about 10 people after playing for 3 years. I wonder how you know their age on how they act.
Also, ever thought of solving the problem yourself and getting a decent guild? If they do those anal jokes I never see any friend of me participating.
3. Raid and Battleground schedules on adult time. You raid four nights a week? And you'll kick me for not showing up? Sorry 'Lolcatz' I quit...
so you're stupid enough to join a guild that requires stuf you can't live up to....wow, maturity at its best.
4. They probably don't want me around either. I'm sure most kids would prefer to play with other kids, just as most adults would prefer to play with other adults.
Get this trough your skul. Age doesn't matter jack as long as you know wtf you're doing.
It should be a simple enough matter to set this up, with subscriptions via credit cards or bankers drafts or whatever, and I'm sure it would be popular. So why not?
I'm sure someone will tell me...
I doubt it's that simple, getting my mothers creditcard at the age of 18 isn't exacly hard.

you're an idiot so ya. course you do. :)
Exactley why the OP poised the suggestion!
Maybe we should have kid/adult forums.

so you're calling me a kid because i called someone an idiot for agreeing with an incredibly prejudice and ignorant idea? you're an idiot too.
how bout we have smart and dumb player servers, people like you and the op can play on the dumb servers :)
Wow, what you going to flame everyone who disagrees with you? Don't get mad, get a better arguement.

Surprised a 35 year old could come up with such immature arguments.
Oh wait, no I'm not.

though i do see entirely too many instances of "there r no girls on teh internetz!", but that's another topic altogether.
To be fair, that's pretty much a meme now. If any reference is ever made to the gender of our guild master's wife (who is actually a good player and officer) it's pretty much mandatory that six people in the raid, often including her and one of the other women in the raid, say 'girls don't play WoW.'
And there's a loose correlation with age and set schedule, but it's by no means strict. Assigning a catch-all that jobs are unpredictable and high school is not is wrong. If you're very active in an athletic team and/or a competent theater/musicianship program in your high school, your schedule is going to vary week to week (when is the next game/rehearsal/concert/practice? Is it at our school, another school, the city orchestra's concert hall if you're extremely good). Even if not, if you're a very serious student, you may need to make time to study during midterms/finals, or set aside times to work on end of group projects/essays, etc.
Conversely, if you have some nine to five and you're expected to do little to no work at home, you could raid every night for five hours a night, like clockwork, at any age.
The stereotype that young teenagers have all the time in the world to raid and everyone over the age of 25 has a busy unpredictable schedule has a grain of truth to it, but it's a pretty naive complaint to make, especially if you're going to use it as a supporting claim for a drastic overhaul in how WoW servers work.

Sux2bu, so do adults.

Actually, I have finally found a guild that's right for me, with about 30% mature kids between twelve and eighteen, and the rest adults. Believe it or not, the loot ninjaing guild-drama starters are more often then not around thirty. I've found that 6/10 people who annoy me are kids, not a number high enough to make it justifiable.
3. Raid and Battleground schedules on adult time. You raid four nights a week? And you'll kick me for not showing up? Sorry 'Lolcatz' I quit...
This is completely one sided. In fact, it's almost always the adults who make raid times, being the guild masters, and make the raids. Also, I am subject to randomness. My mom will randomly decide I've had enough for the day, just before I've killed the first boss in ICC. She will literally pull the plug on me. She does not understand I can't just 'pause the game.' I'm killing an Old God? Obviously, she wants to read her comments on Facebook. I can wait.
4. They probably don't want me around either. I'm sure most kids would prefer to play with other kids, just as most adults would prefer to play with other adults.
I like playing with mature, humorous people who know how to play the game. Age doesn't matter.
It should be a simple enough matter to set this up, with subscriptions via credit cards or bankers drafts or whatever, and I'm sure it would be popular. So why not?
What's to stop them from getting on it to get carried in raids?
The funniest thing? I would probably lie about my age to get on it because it will have more mature players.

I love how the people that are yelling, using sarcasm, spamming "no", cutting this man off at the knees are all under 18...
And how exactly do you know this?
