I've found a solution that worked, for me at least. I spotted this in another post chain on an older problem and gave it a try.
Go into the options and uncheck the "upload character data" option, then upload. It worked fine, I then went in and re-checked the upload character data and it continues to work. Someone in the other post speculated that there was some corrupt data in the character data.

This also worked for me.
Worked here too.
EDIT. Although it still updates the client every time you run it.

Getting the same problem as others are reporting, run WoWHead Client, it updates 4 files, try to upload data and get the: "WoWHead is unable to process your upload at this time. Please try again in a bit." error. So, I've been trying again for about 6 days now, always with the same result. Here's the latest log:
Thanks for using the Wowhead Client!
This is version 1.7.0, built on September 7, 2010.
Compatible with Wrath of the Lich King.
Upload failed: Server timeout.
Upload failed: Server timeout.
The only response from WoWHead seems to have been a "we're investigating" reply 5 days ago. Any progress in that investigation yet? Starting to think I may as well just stop running the WoWHead client completely because this sort of error seems to be happening quite a lot lately.

I am also having this problem. Wowhead has updated the client each time I've started my computer (which runs the wowhead client) and I had the problem with uploading data stopping at 80%. It was fixed once I unchecked the "upload character data" box and uploaded.
It's not a big nuisance at this point, just something I'm sure you don't need getting pulled from your server each and every time wowhead starts for me :)

I'm still having a problem with the client. The client doesn't appear to update itself every time I run it anymore which is nice, but still can not seem to upload data.
When I open the client and click upload, I get the upload progress box for a minute or so:

Then this window pops up saying unable to process upload:

I am running the latest Version:

I did try the workaround of un-checking "Upload Character Data" in the options menu and doing that allowed me to upload, but I would still like to upload character data.

I think this is probably a different issue. Please post in a new thread so we can keep this one from getting too confusing. :)

Just to clarify, guys, as of version 1.8.5, the upload still failed until I took off or unticked "Upload character data". Many thanks for the person who posted the tip about that, and everyone who reposted confirming that it worked with them. It worked for me too, and it did not work until I did that just once. After that, I ticked it, and the upload went fine.
My advice to the development team is to perhaps make the default setting for the program with that option ticked off! Then, perhaps you can somehow urge the installer to tick it later on.

Upon a series of failed attempts, the only thing i can observe as a problem is that the client itself times out for some reason. When i take out files and re-paste them in their original destination each on their own, then try to upload, it works just fine (only after i disable my Kaspersky antivirus, of course). So, apparently, when the files are relatively small, the client doesn't pass through the "time-out" interval, and therefore successfully uploads the data without any trouble.
Though this works for me now, I hardly feel that it would be comfortable for me, or anyone else for that matter, to repeat the process every single time. Can you please repair the time-out problem? I don't mind disabling my antivirus when i want to upload since it's not the client's doing at all. Thank you for your time.
