Eh... I never liked Sylvanas. From being a crappy High Elf to being Banshee Queen... doesn't change much in my eyes.

The ends justify the means right? Sounds Machiavellian.
humm that is a dangerous position to take, because that's what arthas did to stop the plage and see what that got him.
I think one has to be willing to draw a line of how far are they willing to go to protect themselves..........
In my opinion that line is civilians, no matter what nothing justifies killing directly or indirectly the civilians.
this also goes to non-combatants, if an enemy has surrendered their weapons, the honorable thing to do is to spare their lives.
and the horde does this, in borean tundra a lot of alliance soldiers laid down their weapons and surrendered, and the horde showed both compation and honor by sparing their lives, and even returning them to their compatriots.
this is the kind of chivalry that I expect in war, I'm sure it was saurfang the reason those non-combatants were spared, because we've seen how low garrosh will sink to reduce the numbers of the alliance =(.Right... but those are Orcs, not Forsaken; Forsaken have already crossed the line that the other Horde races won't, and you see it in the Hillsbrad quests. 'The Ends Justify the Means' is how Sylvanas runs her race and her armies; that's why she allied with a Dreadlord, that's why she sent messengers to the Horde to get her people into it, that's why she helped the Blood Elves reclaim the Sunwell's energy source; it was all about setting herself up so that she could be in a position to strike against her enemies.
you know what addams? I can't deny that, I must say sylvannas is really slipping down and down in my eyes...............
I still pity her because she used to be a great hero, just as I pitied arthas who used to be a nice guy but honest to god, sylvannas is really working her b-hind to make sure we hate her.
I wonder if on cata she's gonna keep this road....... or change?( bah is very unlikely she changes willingly, though I hear a sword at your throat works wonders on persuation)
Soon, something I doubt your thinking of will all be explained :D. Well, a possibility at least...

After you kill Arthas she says that she needs to think about what will happen to the Forsaken now - or something like that. So maybe with the Lich King and the source of her anger dead she'll change?
Unlikely, but it would make for an interesting character. A leader who dosn't know the place for her people in the world, but strives to keep living (in a manner of speaking) in hopes of finding out.
Again, though, unlikely.

she does? o_O I NEED TO SEE THAT!
my my, it seems everyone who's anyone says a piece to anyone after arthas kicks the bucket.
first I hear that darion has a talk with his father, and now I hear sylvannas says something about her fate and that of her people when he's dead......
where can I find these conversations? U_U

I youtubed for the sound files. I think it was "Lich King fight sounds" or something like that.
And yeah, Darion does talk with his father, Muradin comments on Arthas and so does Jaina (if i remember correctly).
Good luck in finding them.

The applies to the rest of the forsaken. And yes, the term of 'the ends justifies the means' is how the forsaken were, they were focused on one thing.. well.. two things, surviving, and killing Arthas for revenge.
Now Arthas is gone, all they have left is survival, but will they now seek other pursuits in there afterlife, or carry on down a self destructive path and eventually be as bad as the scourge?

That remains to be seen. Hopefully Cataclysm will show us something.
Invading Gilneas may make it obvious, but when you think about who is now warchief and Metzen's words on Sylvanas "being in the doghouse" she may not have much choice.
But since this is a different topic altogther I say we end it here before something bad happens.

Humans, Orcs or Trolls are probably next on her hit list.

It is as I told you. They were not merely idle words spoken in a fit of anger.
Time and again, the Horde have demonstrated their disdain for everything we hold dear and holy. They must pay with their lives for their transgressions against the light.
All of them.
Just imagine a world free of their stain, <name>
. Envision the joy our children will know. Think of the reverence your descendants will have for your memory, knowing they owe their happiness to you.
Now go, and make that vision a reality!
Bolded for emphasis.

And I'd like to point this part out. I hate to have this sound the way its going to, but I see that phrase as religious extremism. And as Iraq and the Crusades of the past can tell, religious extremism leads to a whole number of problems.

I can be described like this, Fun:
If you were forced to live in paradise under the threat of death, it would seem less of a paradise. Don't you agree?
