Figured I'd give you all an update to my progress on the armory module. Well a crap ton of coding in and we're making good progress. I have it properly generating the HTML for the tooltip, just working on the cache portion now, and then the JavaScript to actually display the tooltip. I have been using some of the code from
this guy's
take on armory tooltips and modifying them heavily to my needs. Seeing as I don't really mess with JavaScript all that much I will most likely modify his JS file to suit my needs. Overall things are looking great! Still working on modifying the guy's code to handle the armory changes, its been a while since he's updated and it doesn't account for the new level cap or dual specs. Woohoo! =D
Just a warning, the installation procedure for this new version (most likely 3.4) will be a bit more involved, but shouldn't be too bad.

There was an update that fixed the mod for the level cap and dual spec toward the end of the thread I linked earlier, if that is of any help.

The changes to the script won't be too bad. I just can't work out how to get the tooltip to display what I want, currently it displays the script's site...not a clue why. It is really annoying.

Looks basically identical to the existing one I use. Be nice to have to only use one mod to do what I want.
Can you make sure you include options to show/hide the race and class icons? I typically only use the class icon on the forums for the profile links.

Can you make sure you include options to show/hide the race and class icons? I typically only use the class icon on the forums for the profile links.
That's the plan. Its the same core of code, I just modified it to make it work with my script and made a few minor changes/fixes. The icons can be completely disabled via a config variable or disabled on a case by case basis by using the "noicons" modifier.

Version 3.4beta Released!
Okay here's the deal, I can't possibly test it like I want to so I'm asking for some help. So yeah, with that I introduce you to version 3.4beta of my script. This is mainly to test the armory module and make sure it works properly. I'm sure it will have some bugs or some toons won't report properly, but this the best way to knock out all of the bugs. The installation is basically the same with 2 additionals line to add to "overall_header.html" of your phpBB theme.
Please note that this release is BETA, everything may not function as I intended, but to the best of my knowledge everything is running. Also note that this release is for phpBB3
ONLY
.
Once I take it out of beta I will modify the Joomla! and Wordpress modules to make them work. Since I test this script using phpBB3 then its the most logical test platform for you guys. I do not recommend installing this script on any other CMS, unless you know what you are doing.
Now then, in
overall_header.html
add the following 2 lines right below the calls to
wowhead.css
and Wowhead's
power.js
(make sure still inside the head tags):
<link href="{T_THEME_PATH}/armory.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="./wowhead/js/armory.js.php"></script>
So yeah install it,
make sure you run create_table.php
, then give a run using tags. The only parameters the armory tags accept are:
loc="{region},{realm}"
. Make sure to edit config.php, there are some additional variables now.
Finally, in order to keep better track of any bugs that arise throughout development I have installed the

To fix the issue open table_scheme.sql with your favorite text editor.
Find:
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `{NPC_TABLE}`;
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `{NPC_TABLE}` (
`npcid` int(8) unsigned NOT NULL,
`name` varchar(255) NOT NULL,
`search_name` varchar(255) NOT NULL,
`lang` varchar(2) NOT NULL,
);
Replace: `lang` varchar(2) NOT NULL,
With: `lang` varchar(2) NOT NULL
Basically remove the comma at the end of the line. Then save it and upload it, and run create_table.php again.

Thanks! That did the job. Now it gives an error though because this is missing the semicolon
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `{ARMORY_TABLE}`
Added the semicolon and it worked well

The MySQL table was setup successfully. You may delete this file, as well as table_scheme.sql.

Error given if $armory_icons = false; is set to either true or false
P.S Your bug tracker says at the bottom of the main page "WARNING: Admin directory should be removed."
Ty for the tracker info, wasn't telling me that for some reason. However, those are not errors. They notices that PHP gives, I have fixed the issue. You can download it
here
. To apply the fix simply replace wowhead_armoy.php, armory.php, and table_scheme.sql and then run create_table.php.

Yeah I was originally going to use a MySQL table for the profile module until I figured out that it doesn't need one. Guess I never removed the constant.

Failed to add Bragund Brightlink to the cache. Table 'vetoguild_com.wowhead_npc' doesn't exist
that line says it all to me, the table wowhead_npc is not in your database and thats why u recieve that error constantly read the post on your forum for the fix

Can you seperate the race and class icon toggle? I could care less about what race a person is in most cases, but having the class icon is actually useful.
Also, if I could actually get a tooltip of something other than errors, I'd be happy.
I followed the install (v3.4.1) and created the tables and cleared the cache... and my character tooltips are just a long string of error messages. Items work jsut fine...

Does the script handle an unreachable armory? Part of the errors I'm seeing are due to it apparently not being able to get info from the armory.
The armory has a tendency to block IPs for a period of time if you make too many requests in short order.

In theory is should handle it, but for whatever reason it is buggy. I am looking into it and will add the issue to the bug tracker.

Just a heads up I redesigned my site this morning to use the Wordpress CMS and am in the process of setting everything up. Once I finish that I am going to move the script's site over to my main page. Your patience is appreciated.
