I don't really see why where he lives has to do with how his politcal views measure up to the rest of world's?

In the post in question you refered to America / American Politics 4 times and not once to the rest of the world. You were talking about America and Obama's place in American politics.
You mean get a second term. Words ≠ Actions. I fear Obama has been far to passive this term.
He is passive because despite being center-right he promised relatively "liberal" (
for America
) policies, but when he sees his falling poll numbers he decides to shift to the right in the hope of catching voters who are on the right but not enough-so to be considered
Republican
. However, in doing this he makes it harder to get his "liberal" policies through and so he ends up flip-flopping in the middle.
What I'm saying is, if he could make a speech like this one that would raise his poll numbers like this one did (see above) more often, he would not be compelled to move to the right and thus would be able to focus on getting things done.
This is assuming that we accept A) The
Democatic
and
Republican
parties are fundementally different and B) Obama actually has a interest in passing said "liberal" policies. Both of these points I am not sure on, but that is a topic for a different time.

*Puts on political Wardoom mask*
I would just like to defend Fox news, for a little bit.
As you all know, the current media is strongly democratic, right? ABC (Is more democratic, but is really pretty bi-partisan), NBC, CBS, and CNN (Who SAY that they are bipartisan) are all widely known democratic networks, and it really did show during the Presidential Election.
However, standing out among its peers, is FOX, a very republican (Which I admit is the party I have voted for, followed, and agreed with all my life) network is simply trying to compete with the Democratic networks. The Republicans were in control after the Clinton administration, and the networks were more even (FOX and CBS being the republican, ABC and NBC being the democratic ones), however the recent change in political mindset within our great nation has turned not only CBS, but also many newspapers democratic. The Dallas Morning News, Baltimore Sun are both examples of Republican newspapers. FOX's recent struggling, not only financially but viewer-wise, with it's news networks has been the opposite of the Republican newspapers who, even when published within a democratic area, have not only thrived, but have persevered through the tough economic downfall. Their success is due to their very openly attack against democratic political figures. FOX, in attempting to imitate this, has failed within the T.V. obsessed country of the United States of America.
So, it really depends upon the party you support, and your own preference of news network. Don't try to dissuade people of the stations they wish to watch. I was ABC (despite being Republican).
FOX has many other great features (especially it's sports), so don't trash it due to it's lack of more equal news casting because you're a democrat. The way you look at FOX, I look at NBC; a cruel, very anti-republican network.
But please, lets refrain from a political show-down. I love Baseball and Football FAR to much to care about those buffoons who call themselves "leaders" (I don't think that way of all of them... just a lot of them.) And lets focus on what is really important: "Swing and a long drive!"
Thanks for reading (although I doubt you did.)
*takes off political mask*
I don't have a huge problem with Republican news (Objective News > Democratic > Republican > Fox News for me) However, when it comes to airing stuff as stupid as they do. Also, they downright claim that they are 100% unbiased, which I cannot respect).

"For America" implies a comparison to the rest of the world. "Relativly" implies that said policies are only "liberal" in America.

As for the Fox News argument, just because they are not progressive like you does not mean that they are giving out false information. They are stating what they believe, and if they can't do that anymore then this country is taking a very bad turn.
I never said they were. The only information they give out that is false that I can say for sure is that they say they are unbiased. Other than that, it's a bending (Note, not breaking) of facts so that it is only seen from their side with no acknowledgment of the other sides view of things. While I no that no media is void of this, I feel that most others have it at a much lesser extent.

The progressive spending
I stopped there.
If you really believe that it is just progressive spending, then you have no place in this thread.
The difference now between the parties is semantic and should not then be based in how much one party spends as opposed to the other.

I completely agree that they're biased. I'm pretty sure they intend to be that way.
All news networks are biased. Fox probably just isn't biased toward your views.

Not all news networks are biased to the same degree, though.

Uh yeah. Compared to the rest of the world Obama is center-right. Just because I refered to American politcal parties doesn't mean I was talking about in America specifically.
What I'm trying to get at is that there is a lot of $%^&ed up &*!@ going on in the government that shouldn't be.
...an American government......DOING THINGS BADLY? *monocle flies off face and up to the moon with the force*
