There are no
obvious
things which can relate to a real religion in wow.
However, the human mind do make relations to things they are familiar with. For example Ankhs, which was mentioned earlier in this thread, is something which different people look at _in_different_ways_ (ie it have different symbolic meaning for different people)

Christianity and "the light" are completely separate. One is a social control mechanism, the other is a concept of "good" and "right" in a game. So no, priests/pallys are not Christians. Before you flame me for that look at my signature.
Umm... What? For many people, Christianity is also "good" and "right" in real life. Just because YOU don't believe in God or whatever doesn't mean other people don't. And it's not really a social control mechanism, because that would imply that there was no Christ. And you can't prove that Jesus did or did not exist.
And while I agree that the Church of the Holy Light is not Christianity, there ARE many similarities. The architecture of the buildings (such as the Cathedral of the Light in SW), many of the terms that are used in the game, etc. Granted, a lot of these terms aren't Christian-specific, but when many people think of these terms they will immediately think of Christianity and holiness and such. Examples include
Penance
,
Divine Hymn
,
Repentance
, etc...

...That's a cross, to you? Looks pretty much like a diamond, to me. =/
This
does not look like
This
. I don't know where you're getting that from.
And no, Priest does not have any 'religion'. I'm very sure Blizzard doesn't want to have those insanely-religious people QQing at them because X religion is in their game, and getting into peoples' minds.
Also, what do you mean "Troll" religion?
Shamans and Druids, and whatever they do, I'm pretty sure it has no connection to real-life religion. I am talking about when you use it.

I'm surprised, for a religion thread on a gaming forum, this didn't seem half-bad. And I lol'd at "I'm an athiest but main is a priest."
+ can be a cross, look at the symbol for Red Cross. Even X (e.g. xroads or xbow) can be a cross. All "cross" means it that multiple lines intersect. The crucifix, which commonly is called the cross, is in the common shape of a + with the horizontal line off-center of the vertical.
I think a lot of things in American culture can easily be related to Christian values, because a lot of people in America are familiar at least somewhat with Christianity. It's less prevalent now than it used to be, but it was a very big religion. It makes sense that the WoW developers would base some aspects of at least one race/class (humans and priests/paladins) on Christianity, and that players would pick up the vibe from that. That said, if you go into details, you'll clearly see that the two are not the same. In WoW, the light is a powerful force which can be channeled by will of the priest/paladin/templar - in Christianity God is someone who listens to his followers but sometimes doesn't do what they want because of his larger plan. In WoW, The Light is never referred to as an individual or character, but it is seen almost as an element.
Just to talk about the logic mentioned earlier...all apples are not fruit, because not all fruit are apples. Doesn't work.

In the mid of the 20th century there was an european empire with the a cross-like symbol. They did a lot of raiding and role playing. The priest cross in wow probably refers to this.
