Look at the amount of time and energy blizzard puts into recovering people lost accounts. Its ridiculous. Blizzard already gives you tips and even ways to protect your account against getting hack (Authenticator) In reality its a blessing that blizzard even recovers accounts at all. (I doubt that enough people would quite wow after getting hacked even if they dint get their stuff back to justify the amount of money & time the spend recovering people's accounts blizzard is doing it purely for customer service.)
I think that if people get their accounts hacked they should just be thankful that Blizzard picks up the slack from their miss-doing and trys to help the person get their stuff back instead of just leaving them out in the cold.

If I understand the assumptions correctly, they look something like this:
1. The care package queues will be shorter than the full restoration cues.
2. Full restoration queues will be longer than they are now because they are being assigned a lower priority for Blizzard employees to deal with.
Am I understanding this right? Because as it is, if there's a queue to get the care package, and a queue of a length similar to how it is now to have your stuff restored, I struggle to see what exactly they're trying to accomplish, so I'm assuming I'm right.
ya,employ more staff to give blizzard wonderful ideas like mandatory authenticators.instead of telling people that they can easily avoid getting hacked by safe internet browsing or getting good antivirus programs
BUT HOWZ WILL I FINDS MAH PR0NS?//
And don't try to tell me people aren't that stupid.

I was hacked and when I had my account restored I was given this care package.
The exact contents were:
2,500 Gold
Sent to every level 80 you have.
10 Emblem of Triumph for each wait day (50 emblems for me)
10 Emblem of Frost
In addition, I was given my missing gear at the same time- I'm not sure if this is the usual procedure or not because it seems counterintuitive- if I had rejected the package I would have just been waiting another two+ weeks for an additional ~2k gold, which I really didn't feel like doing.

I have two level 80s (and one 77) and 2500 to each wouldn't even come close to restoring the amount of gold I have. It wouldn't even be half!
So I'm damned glad that I have an authenticator. Got it right after my husband's account got hacked. It was hacked when he had SUSPENDED his WoW account (he'd taken time off from playing the game). The only reason we found out was because I saw his character log on and he wasn't even at his computer. Seems someone got access to his email and used it to access and hack his account. Blizzard did do a great job restoring everything and it's a shame that the won't continue to do so without a major inconvenience/wait period. I'd say that getting an authenticator isn't an option, it's mandatory.
Anyone who can't afford to spend $6 on the authenticator has no business spending $15/month playing the game.

Actually you can tack on 20 bucks for international shipping, because despite folks saying it was for free to them, the site is charging me 20 dollars and change for shipping. Which is about 3 times the cost of the Authenticator, and at least double what it should cost for something that small to ship.
Well, that just stinks and it sounds like price gouging to me. :( I bought some speakers for my car and they are only sold in England...so I paid more for buying them from England and having them shipped overseas and I think it cost about $20-30. I wonder if you can call them up or email them and complain? I guess in the worst case, it's a one time deal. For me, living in the U.S. the shipping was free or not enough for me to notice. I don't know what happens in Canada.
Personally, I think the authenticator should be part of the original purchase of the game. Just tack on an extra $6 to the game and get it done with. All I know is that after my husband was hacked we weren't taking any chances. We didn't even KNOW about the authenticator until AFTER he was hacked. Blizzard needs to be making these available initially rather than closing the doors after the horse has run out of the barn and hoping people get them. It would cut down on their workload and eliminate the hassle for the customer.

This must be the stupidest thing Blizzard has ever done. I'm glad I got my account back and a authenticator while I still had the chance.
Yes. Blizzard are stupid because people let themselves get hacked. Stupid, stupid Blizzard.
