there are so much ides that an hunter would become mad
aspect of the XXX(name of the pet or something so): the hunter takes the aspect of his own pet... gaining bonuses depending on his pet family, his level and his happiness(of course the aspect of the dragonhawk must have a changed name)
for example if your pet is a scorpid your buff will be this(maybe)
Aspect of the Scorpid: increase effectiveness of all stings by 'x'%. In addition, your normal ranged attacks have a 'x'% chance to refresh your current sting to its full duration. This effect can only occur one every 'x' amount of seconds
this i like, i have tanacity pets, and i think there health buff is the shiz (they heal and make them self happy) and i think this would be epic for surv, or in fact just to lvl as you would heal as you hit, how nucking futs will that be

Think of this in the BG's. Serpent sting+scorpid poison stacked 5 times+ refreshing of Serpent Sting.
That would be pure awesomeness. Aspect of the Dragonhawk: increases dmg of fire based dmg by x%

aspect of the worm:
-focus regeneration rate increased by X%(not so much)
-health regeneration rate increased by X%
-whenever you get hit you will have an empowered regeneration for 5 sec

What about simply changing Aspect of the Beast to function sort of like Chimera Shot? Depending on what Pet you have out, it gives you a different buff or gives the pet a new ability while the Aspect is on? This would give Hunters more reasons give us different different pets.
There are too many variaties of pets for this to be a simple change. Now if you talking about the 3 different types of pet, Cunning, Ferocity, and Tenasity, than yeah I can see this working.

that was the idea i was trying to propose... about this i agree with you, this would be the way with which the blizz would influence hunters to change their pet

Increasing hunter armour would be retarded, hunters would end up being a tank that can't keep the enemy off the rest of the raid and so it would be a failtank, besides hunters are mail so thats good enough anyway
However since in cataclysm hunters get focus instead of mana how about an aspect like:
Aspect of the Fox: Increases ranged attack speed by 10% while doubling focus regeneration, this aspect will also increase maximum focus to 200 however the hunter will be unable to use melee abilties, traps, Rapid Fire, Volley, Freezing Arrow and Flare until aspect of the fox is deactivated

Aspect of Northen Beasts:
The hunter takes on the aspect of the beasts of Northrend, increasing Agility, Critical strike rating and attack power by 5%. While this aspect is active damage done against beasts deals 5% of damage done as frost damage.

No I haven't seen a fox in wow except some people who had names with something to do with foxes but i couldnt think of any better name for it :)
As much as raptor sounds cool haste sucks donkey balls for hunters :)

I can see it now...and it's not a pretty sight.
I would like to see something happen with hunters and the option of melee, whether it be to make it viable or to remove it entirely, bugs me that Blizz stopped a quarter of the way.
If they did make melee viable for one tree I could see it within reason to give it a
Camouflage
ability far down the tree.

I second that, since hunters get focus which is similiar to a rogues energy then making hunters melee will be pointless, give them stealth on top of that and then they will slowly transform into rogues. Anyways why would you want to melee as a hunter? the whole point is occupying someone with a pet and running around shooting at them and using disengage if they come into melee and you need to keep at a range (unless if your a survival hunter with sniper training)

If ya stop and think about the tree, thats just what it is. There are 3 talents that increase our longevity. Scatter Shot, Counter-Attack, and Wyvern Sting. All have their place in a hunter's arsenal, and can make a difference.
Everyone says a hunter doesn't need Counter-Attack, and I disagree. We dont always have Disengage and deterrence up, and CA can be helpful while in melee. Granted we need to parry, its still useful. It will always hit, and is a good burst on top of the other melee attacks we have. Wing Clip only slows, and does nothing in the away of dmg. A garunteed hit and root in the same attack is a hunters dream. We can get back into range and they cant do anything to stop it. CA is a good talent to pick up.
Those points can go to better use, but they make SV hunters well rounded. Thrash me all you like, but it helps.
