It's harder for a single parent to adopt then a couple
,
Adopted child's interest > Adoption parent(s) interest
It's safer / easier / better (or whatever positive term you want to use) for child to grow up on family with two parents.According to you... I was raised by one parent and I turned out fine. I know quite a few people who are single parent's.... and *GASP!* their children are just like everyone elses. I know a few child being raised by gay/lesbian couples.... AND ZOMG! their children are healthy little Hetro's! Seriously man, get over it; your stance is incredibly weak, and you don't seem to understand the real world.

I choose not to have children because I believe wherever their souls are now is a hell of alot better than Earth.
That and I admit, I
am
selfish. My time is
my
time.
If someone wants to live with me, they better get a damn job.

Every choice is inherently selfish. People are selfish. One form of selfishness is only more 'right' than another form if you put it in the context of a moral framework.
So, echoing Hyper's call for a reply to his question, what makes not having kids less 'right' in its selfishness than having kids?
Because your parents gave you life, but you don't want to give life to anyone else since your selfish.
That's not a valid argument. The fact that your parents gave you life does not provide any moral guidance on what the 'right' thing to do is. You're also begging the question by saying that being selfish is not right 'since your selfish'. Try again.
I don't believe I saw a valid response to my question.
What makes not having kids any less 'right' in its selfishness than having kids?
If I give a hundred thousand dollars to build a school in an empoverished nation, am I more or less selfish than if I choose to have a child? How much do I need to donate to starving kids before I should no longer feel guilt at choosing not to have a child?
And if you can actually answer that question, then you're either a) putting a monetary value on children, or b) admitting that there isn't any way to compare the moral value of either.

I was just saying that there are some people who don't want to have kids for selfish reason, and use overpopulation as an excuse for not being selfish. The problem is that they are not really saving the world when not having kids, because they use the money they save
from not having kids to something (new tv's lol) that has negative effect on saving the world.
These people can't use "saving the world" as an excuse for not having children unless they spend the money saved from not having kids to "save the world".
What negative effect?
Maybe that TV helped make that persons life happier.
With that person being happier, they might not feel the need to go out and be horrible to other people, instead they're being nicer. Because that person is nice to other people, they're now happier and decide to be nicer to others. Some of those people donate money/time to those less fortunate than themselves, making the world a "better" place.
All that from buying a TV.
Make the world a better place, buy a 60 inch plasma today!

Many couples/singles want to adopt a child. It's for the child's interest to choose the best conditions to grow up in.
Who get's to decide though? Why does the redneck church going family get to adopt, but the single mother who believes in Buddha doesn't?
