Last I checked, Demo builds typically use CoA over CoD for more
Molten Core
uptime. For Heigan, phase 2 is only 45 seconds long, so CoD won't tick before it's time to go back to CoA. I haven't seen any other fights that could be considered movement intensive enough to require changing curses, but I'm not past the Keepers yet.

I've been using CoA the most lately. On some fights where there's multiple targets, N. Beasts/Twins come to mind, I will throw a CoD on the one that I am not attacking just for a little more DPS.But, CoA helps proc MC more, this is until 3.3 when it's just Corr, when that happens, I'm not sure which I'll be using yet.

i think it's probably time to stop using CoA at all as destro.
in the case of heigan you're saying that DPS is unusually more important than DPET since you're so limited in what you can cast anyway.
CoA
does
have a few more DPS than CoD (252CoD -> 312CoA) BUT:
a) heigan could barely matter less.
b) there are no other fights with such a movement intensive phase.
c) the DPS increase is so ridiculously minimal it can be safely ignored.
we often talk about the cut off point for whether to cast a spell or not is when a spell's DPET fall below that of the filler spell. in the case of 0/13/58 builds CoA has a lower DPET than incinerate and should be dropped even below one minute to death.
this appears to be true at all gear levels though it is much closer for brand new 80s in blues
to be clear.
CoD = good
CoA = bad

He's asking for Demo.
ah yeah. the shadowbolts should have given it away.
basically the advice about the same. agony is much more useful for demo generally and the difference in DPET is much closer but the number of fights where DPS is more important than DPET is very small (and non-existent in current content) and the gain is even smaller.
stick to using the "best" curse no matter what the situation as far as movement is concerned and you will do well.

DPET is damage-per-execute-time or basically how well spent your time is if you use the spell.
trouble is that there really isn't a DPS version of a deep demo spec, it's damage is (in 3.2.2) low so the reason to use it is purely support or because you just really like demo. if you're taking it because you just like playing demo then you will serve your raid best by aiming for utility to off-set the naturally low output of the spec.
that said, all deep demo specs are best off using CoD before 35% and CoA after regardless of their role in the raid.
