Okay im a lvl 80 surv hunter i do about 4.5-5K with 1 or 2 dps increasing buffs, my link to armory is
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Zenedar&n=Sharphunt
, But lately i have been over aggroing so much and i have no idea how, My rotation is , Explosive Shot
Black Arrow
Serpent Sting
Aimed Shot(or multi shot)
Steady Shot
Steady Shot
then i use basically the same apart from stuff still on cd ill use steady shot, now i have no idea why i always over aggro with 3 or 4 attacks, i even Fd and MD to tank when ever im above 60% aggro..anyone have any ideas how i might be over aggroing or how to not over aggro, all comments and help welcome thanks
Wouldn't you get a higher dps by firing off black arrow before explosive, so explosive gets the black arrow buff?

Hunter's are threat hungry. End of story.
I am so threat hungry during fights that I still have to use FD after an MD pull with vigilance! Our tanks are some of the best that I have seen, however, there is not much that they can do when you hit 70%+ crit with trinket procs...
I will usually open with my full volley, hit FD, readiness, continue on with opening volley of shots, hit FD again, then I am usually pretty good for the remainder of the fight. Sometimes I will get close to having to FD again towards the end of a fight.
It's not a tank issue either, as it only appears to be happening with me.

are you sure the FD goes in?
as a paladin tank and a hunter i have to say hunter and warlocks is the only things so can if not carefull overaggro easly.
If you got paladin in raid you can ask them to cast threat reduction spell on you, (Hand of Salvation)
Also one trick you can do is JUST to wait 3 sec befor starting to attack as paladin tank with triger happy dps i ahve to say that healers are paying a price in that they have to heal me alot more in the start cos i have to generate threat and i might not get def abilitys up for it.
waiting do NOT harm dps it harm damage done yes but if it is so big problem its better to use some sec more then overaggro and die, as a dead dps is more dmg losee then the person waiting, however what you shude do is talk to the tank about it.
also hunters dont have natural threat reduction thats why you are so close to tank also thats why you got THREAT WIPE in FD

When you hit FD, wait a bit, if you go back to shooting right away, chances are that your aggro didn't reset.
There is nothing as "low haste" for hunters. You should aim for 0 haste if you could (but blizzard insists to put some pesky haste here and there).
When you MD, try to use Aimed. Each tick of Explosive shot eats up a charge of MD, so that's low transferred threat.
But yeah, Aggro is always a problem for hunters. Just FD or MD whenever needed and you should be fine.

I dunno, but it seems like you're just playing with bad tanks. Remember to always use your misdirection when it's off cooldown. When you see your Omen bar is closing in on the tank, FD before it's too late. Don't forget to wait for the bar to drop before you get up from Feign Death, else it's useless.
In 3.3, you won't see that much of your aggro problem. Misdirection will be buffed, which means it lasts for 4 seconds, rather than 3 ticks. This means you can now cast even Explosive Shot with Serpent Sting without generating any aggro over 4 seconds.

If you use Omen, remember that you can change the bar colors to anything you like, so it is really easy to see which position you're in. Choose a color that isn't used by any other classes (I use bright green) and then you can clearly tell when that color falls away to be sure your FD reset your aggro.

If you have to feign death more than once every thirty seconds, then the tank isn't doing his job. End of story.
This is true and not true it might be tank but normaly it is the dps so ahve to adjust his dps cos he is overgeared for it.

In a guild raiding group, I highly doubt that the dps will be over geared for the raid content they are currently doing. If they have to FD every time it comes off CD, then the tank is certainly doing something wrong.
If however a highly geared dps is bored and simply doing heroics or old raiding content (think ToGC geared doing Nax) with lower geared people, then of course there are going to be issues.
