I hope the Horde/Alliance seprate comics in January are better.Well, you won't like them either, it's going to be focused on an orc and a tauren horde side, and a father and son mage/swords man on Allie side, so still no Varian, except as cameos lol.

Through all the leaked transcripts and such that have been found and posted about on this site and
MMO-Champion
, does anyone think that the Horde and Alliance will be more "friendly" toward each other in Cataclysm?
There's been a couple scripts with Saurfang in which he mentions, to Garrosh for one, that he'd kill anyone who brings the Horde back down their blood-stained past. As well as in the leaked transcript that if they could save Bolvar they could end the hostility between them.
If this was true, would it be a positive or a negative? Would it be weird to see massive areas in which Horde and Alliance turn in quests together for the same goal? Like with the Shattered Sun Offensive.
Personally, if we could interact with famous figures of both factions, and even delve into some of their lore, I'd be all for it.
Watch the Cataclysm trailer again.
Its the exact opposite of getting more friendly.
It hits the fan.

First off, Lothar would %^&* Saurfang up.
And you can attest to this with your incredible powers of foresight?
Second, I belive the Horde players don't see Varian as a hero because he declared war on them, and they don't see the hero he is to the Alliance. The same one who lead them to discover a threat seeking to destroy them all from inside the Horde, and defeat the same dragon who has been deciving Stormwind for so many years...
What reason would a horde player have to ever regard Varian as any kind of a hero, when he's declared open war with them, attacked there leader, taunted and insulted them constantly, and makes irrational claims and insulted there honor. I might ask why alliance players don't consider the same of horde heroes like orgrim and grom, which is often meet with them saying 'because he attacked the alliance' or 'he killed one of our heroes'.
You guys see him as a curuption, but in truth, he is Lothar and Terenas lived on...
I just wish they were alive still, so that way you guys could see that.
Actully anyone who can read can see it. Anywho who has read tides of darkness can read up on what sort of people Lothar and Terenas were, and make that comparison against Varian. And I for one can say the only thing they have in common, is that both Varian and Lothar lead the alliance, one just did it with dignity, the other as a thug and clueless warmonger.
Yeah, he is not Turalyon, but then again, no one in WoW really is as heroic as him. Having B-slapped the villianous Doomhammer with a hilt, led to many victorys in the second war, and saved Azeroth from being blown up by Ner'zhul.
So in one post you say 'I don't know why horde fans don't see Varian as a hero', and now heres you calling Doomhammer a villian because he killed Lothar in fair combat? And your wondering why no one wants to take what you say about Varaian seriously?
As for Fordragon, I am a bit confused why Horde players love saying how Varian "ruins Bolvar's memory" and what not.
You guys are aware that Bolvar was his right hand, right?
You do know that if Bolvar were here, he would be following Varian, right?
As far as it went Bolvar did a job of safeguarding his people well Varian was missing. Varian has now put his people in danger with his irrational actions and petty warmonger. You want to know why I respect Bolvar unlike Varian? Because Bolvar at least was able to stand side by side with the horde when faced with a common foe, and act like a mature leader.
If anything, Bolvar was more like the kind of hero Lothar or Terenas were. Your Varian obsession just has to equating Varian as a superman figure well ignoring everything else around.
I really don't even get why you guys are so sure about his story, he could have hated the Horde even more then Varian.
Yes he could have. And yet again, he put those differences aside, and stood side by side with them at the wrath gate. Can the same be said about Varian, with the lich king, Yog Saron, and soon deathwing breahting down everyone neck, of course not. At least Bolvar had a clue what was important.

You kidding? From what I've heard, they're tossing the conflict ball all over the place. And I like the way it's going with Med'an and the Council(which are going to be in Cata).Oh, really? I'd heard rumors that Med'an was slated to die in issue #25.
Despite the fact that he's a four-plus hudorc shamageadin Marty Sam, I'm hoping this isn't the case: If you try to remedy bad writing with gawdawful writing, you just end up compounding it. (And...much as I hate to admit it...he may be a Sam, but I'm beginning to like him.)

If Muradin could beat Saurfang, then so will Lothar.
First of all, Muradin and Saurfang never physically fight each other. They fight each other's airship, during the airship battle.
Second, I've said this before and i will say it again, there are two versions of the Deathbringer Saurfang fight depending on what faction you belong to. It just so happens Saurfang Sr. shows up during the Alliance version to reclaim his son's body so he can bury it. In the Horde version Saurfang is unopposed because earlier Saurfang and the Horde decimated the Alliance airship and its troops while the Alliance could not even fully defeat Saurfang in their own version.
Face it, no Alliance hero will ever compare to the epicness that is Saurfang. Not Bolvar, Varian, Lothar, not Terenas, not anybody. 80% of the Alliance population dont even know who Lothar or Terenas are. While I can guarantee you that 95% of the Horde are aware of who Saurfang is.

Good news everyone!
We are going to bring the
war
back into
war
craft! How can you bring something "back" that never went away to begin with? "War" does not equal either PvP or some artificially-maintained false dichotomy between factions. Especially when most of the cosmos is out to get you.
