Does it have its own graphics card, or is that a 256 MB Shared memory graphics chip on the mother board? Is it running Windows Vista? a 2 GB RAM machine on Vista is not good anyway. You practically need that much just to boot up.

You can try turning all of your video effects down and see if that helps but I think most people experience slowdown when you have everyone AOEing the whelps down. I've seen quite a few people disconnect during that fight as well.

Video card heat does make FPS come down rapidly. I recently had to replace my video card (not in a laptop) for that very reason. I don't think the processor really matters. It's all about ram, graphics card, and heat.
What's your FPS when you're just sitting in Dalaran?

Are you sure 2 GB is max? Is it possible you just have 2 slots with 1gb ram chips and could make them 2gb ram chips for 3.6gb (due to 32-bit clipping).?

With 2GB of RAM, you shouldn't be experiencing any RAM-related issues even running under Vista. You could get 2 x 2 GB sticks of RAM. Though your x86 architecture makes addressing more than 3.6GB impossible on a 32-bit operating system, RAM is cheap so why not?
Your processor is the bottleneck in your system. I have a 1.8GHz proc in my laptop and 25s are nigh impossible.
