I'm going to have to add Headphonez's point to my
sticky
.
They take action first then email you.
If everyone realized this, SOOOOOO many accounts would never be compromised.

You know, you typically get these emails after you buy gold. Where else did they get your email? LOLSOLZLOLSWSOL.

Unfortunately morons like justinc here exacerbate the problem by making unfounded conclusions like this, and attacking people who are innocent victims of some very unscrupulous companies, making them less likely to get the help they need.
Any mainstream email provider gets spammed by these masked email addresses, in fact, I know of several people who don't even play wow who get these phishing emails.
They mainly get hotmail addresses from data-mining virii for MSN.

Unfortunately, morons like "dhampir1989" think that Asian hackers/gold farmers are going to waste time spamming people they don't think play WoW. Guess what? I know someone who gets emails from them who doesn't play as well. That person would be my friend's mom. You see, my friend buys gold all the time with his mom's paypal. I wonder what the correlation between that is.
I've only gotten three phishing scam attempts in the seven or so years I've used Hotmail. None of them were related to WoW. It's a pretty safe bet that if someone gets a fake Blizzard email that they bought gold, power leveling, etc.
Edit- perhaps you should check your vision or head over to
www.dictionary.com
and find out what "typically" means. I never accused the OP of buying gold or using a power leveling service. If he honestly has not had any dealings with gold sellers then he's most likely registered on a shady WoW fan site.

so practically, you got scammed. When recieve one of those mails I first change my account info, run a CC cleaner, and also run an antivirus scan.
After doing that I would inform Activision-Blizzard by mail, regarding the scam to report them.
If blizzard takes action on your account, they will act first, than notify you with the "if you have further questions please reply to blizzard email" or "go to battle.net and follow certain procedures" comments and such.
