Is that saying that you don't want to engage in a rational, productive discussion about it?Incredible. After 4 pages of what I would consider to be very rational debate, I explain that I've said everything I feel I need to say and that I was wrapping my part in it up, and you get this out of it?
I meant no offence. I was asking if you'd given up arguing in this thread (as opposed to 'not wanting to discuss things rationally', apologies for the poor wording), which is what your two quotes appeared to suggest. You posted Magnerz's call for a rational debate, a retraction (sortof) from your previous comment and a withdrawal from the thread. It's hard to get much else from it. I should have used the words 'continue to engage' instead.

The more I think about it the more it should come down to this theatricality and spectacle, coupled with rampant destruction that should be the defining qualities of a Terrorist. Especially when attempting to comparatively define the two categories we are dealing with.
Think about the Mafia (or really, it should be the M.A.F.I.A.). They fit the definition of freedom fighters - established to fight off the French oppression. Certainly though, they do things with a degree of theatrics and spectacle, and I don't think they're adverse to great destruction. But are they terrorists?
And where do vigilantes sit in the grand scheme of things?
