And other basic common sense things.
While I do agree, I'm afraid that this is
the
fatal flaw of your argument. Common sense is dying when it comes to the American public. Many people who own guns don't have common sense enough to operate a flashlight, let alone a weapon of any kind.

Could you redo the title and maybe put a few links in your post to news articles or studies backing up your claims. Just saying "X is stupid", and rattling off your opinion doesn't encourage participation.

I'm all for guns in your own home. Its when you start taking your gun places, especially when you're drunk or you get nervous, and you shoot yourself or more importantly someone innocent, that is the problem.
Also -
Or if the child had basic gun knowledge
This is a joke. Obviously everyone should be knowledgeable about everything, because you never know when they might encounter something they don't know about. Or... guns just need to be controlled so that those who aren't experienced with them can't get anywhere near them. If someone left a land mine on a playground, are you saying you would blame whoever found it and accidentally set it off?

I don't see why you need to possess guns in your home in the US anyway.
I remember hearing about a case in which a young American child shot themself, and maybe their sibling, with a gun because the parents left the gun under the bed. The stupid thing? They made sure medication was out of reach.
They're not safe in the wrong hands, and they are easily placed in the wrong hands.

That's the same thing the guys with pikes said when they saw the line of musketeers coming at them.

At least they died knowing they were right.

IMO keeping guns in your house is perfectly safe AS LONG AS people know how to use them. Its like keeping an untrained dog in your house, it might bite. But if you train it, it won't bite you. Just like guns. If you know how to use them and have proper licensing and papers, keep one, they really can help with safety. I knew a guy who got robbed, was up and had his gun on the robber in three seconds. The robber wasn't going to do anything else after that.
And flaws in this argument is that, if all countries banned guns:
A: are the Terrorists going to give up their guns?
B; is the mafia going to give up their guns?
C: we ban guns, they people who want em are going to get em off the black market, which then leaves you defenseless against people who want to hurt them.
Just my opinions

I disagree with the bolded part and suggest substituting the gun in the robber story with a tazergun and see how it would be different. I think it wouldn't make much difference, he might've had to fire, but no one would've been injured.

Which proves what, exactly? The guys with the muskets were right because they killed the other guys?
