Ugh.
Sorry for the late reply, dunno if you've read the news, but basically my country is exploding right now. On top of all the many humanitarian crisis we have, we can now add no electricity to the long list.
If you wish to contact me, there's several methods. By far the most reliable one is via Discord, my user is Derah#7321 so add me and you can private message me there. There's also my email, davidvillalobos335@hotmail.com
I don't check it as often as I should though.

-.- Well I am officially pissed off at blizzard now. Enough to be considering just quitting BfA and wait out until this BS expansion is over.
In the last patch, Baine defied Sylvanas and released Derek to Jaina before Sylvanas could brainwash him into her personal assassin to murder his own family ("Morally Gray")
For the first time since MoP, Jaina didn't react like a complete beeehaaatch.
Now in 8.2 we gotta stage a rescue mission, to release Baine from the underhold beneath orgrimmar before he can be executed by Sylvanas. So far so good. Thrall and Saurfang lead up the rescue effort. Okay, good good. The alliance however, also wishes to release Baine, and the ones they send to work together with Thrall and Saurfang are Mathias Shaw, and....... Jaina.
Ugh. Fine. I've had a longstanding grudge against her for her actions in the purge of dalaran, but I've resigned myself to the undeniable fact that she's never gonna pay for that. Blizzard wants me to work with her now, fine, I can let it go for the greater good.
But when rescuing Baine, a group of horde loyalists come to stop us, and there's no other way to resolve the situation other than to kill them all. Ugh, you're pushing it blizzard. Having to kill fellow horde members loyal to a rogue warchief was something I already had to do in MoP, and it left a sour taste in my mouth. But fine, I can let it go, lets just get this crap over with.
The loyalists who try to stop us however....... are Sunreavers, trying to get justice out of Jaina for the purge of dalaran. And blizzard expects me to SIDE WITH JAINA AGAINST THEM. And that's where I draw a line on the #$%&ing sand. To rub lemon-soaked salt on the festering wound, the sunreaver leading the group is Magister Hathorael, the lead NPC for whom we do the quest to restore Quel'delar, which for me holds a very personal meaning as that was the canon weapon of my DK for years.
Its gonna be a cold day in hell the day blizzard expects me to help Jaina murder more Sunreavers. No way no how. And as if that wasn't enough, the boss we gotta kill at the end of the scenario, is the Black Bride. The Arathi Battlemaster for the horde since vanilla. X_X
Because apparently nothing is sacred anymore.
I've put up with a lot in BfA, but this is the final drop on a bucket already full. PTR content is not final so there's always a chance it changes before going live, but if that BS goes live as is right now? That's it. I'm just done with this expansion, and will take a break until the next one is here.(##RESPBREAK##)264##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

I thought this was actually an interesting step in the 'morally gray' direction.
From the way the datamined information presents it, you go on the rescue mission both without knowledge that Jaina would be there and that the Sunreavers are protecting Baine. So you arrive in the prison chamber, only for the situation to get out of your hands as you find yourself side by side with Jaina - against whom as a blood elf you have more than enough reasons to hold a grudge - and ATTACKED, as in, die or defend yourself with lethal force attacked, by the Sunreavers.
I think this adds an interesting ambiguity and some food for thought for a character who consciously chose to do what they believe to be the right and moral thing, i.e. free Baine, and now must face the unexpected consequences of that, when the loyalists are not, for example, Apothecary murder-scientists or Garrosh-nostalging warmongering orcs, but your flesh and blood, Sunreavers.
Moreover, much as I dislike Sylvanas, credit where it is due, she could be cunning and ruthless enough to anticipate both dissent in her ranks AND the possibility of the Alliance sending Jaina to free Baine - so she planted Sunreavers there specifically to foment uncertainty in those Horde forces who would oppose her.
On a less positive note, I have a feeling Blizzard is going to at some point whitewash retcon the Purge of Dalaran, or maybe shift the brunt of the blame from Jaina to Vereesa and the Silver Covenant, making Jaina incompetent at holding the High Elves' leash - which led to unmitigated slaughter in the streets - rather than actively malicious.

Ugh...........
I see the logic in what you're saying.............. but I still don't like it.
I hate this turn of the story so much that I'm seriously considering just quitting wow until the expansion is over if this goes live as is.
They already have.
notice how ever since it happened, they've almost never brought it back again, even at points where they REALLY should have done so, such as when the three windrunner sisters finally reunited. You'd think something as big as Vereesa leading an ethnic cleansing against her own people would come up even by accident, but no, lets sweep it under the rug and pretend it never happened. And instead lets have her say something stupid like "I hope Silvermoon finally opens its eyes and rejoins the alliance".
And during the War Crimes novel, Jaina was portrayed as a victim, instead of a perpetrator. She just outright did a massacre of civilians and nobody bats an eye. Its not the first time either. Butchery of Taurajo? Ohh that was just a military target, totally justified. Destruction of Theramoore? HOW DARE YOU, I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU, REMEMBER THERAMOORE.(##RESPBREAK##)264##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

I think that's the intended reaction, Rank. A blood elf main like us not liking it, I mean, not quitting.
Reminds me of our friend Nazgrim. Opposing Sylvanas if her supporters were all omnicidal maniacs and self-declared enemies of hope would be easy. But knowing that, to oppose her, you might have to fight - and kill - your own people? Good people, I might add, who just happen to be on the wrong side of the barricades and who you, personally, fail to convince to join you? Do you even have the right to make that decision? How far are you willing to go for the greater good of the Horde you love and serve?
I think there's a lot of potential in that kind of story for our characters.

I'm glad you mentioned Nazgrim.
Yes, I HAVE had to make this call before. I felt unclean having to kill Nazgrim, and I am VERY unpleased at having to go through this again. Why? Why on earth would they do this AGAIN? We did this. It was called MoP. This is rehashing of the worst caliber, because the're not recycling one of the better parts of the story, but one of the worst ones.
its like Disney launching a new lion king sequel that is nothing but a rehash of the death of mufasa over and over. This is contempt for your audience the likes of which I've never seen

Well, they made a few small changes to the scenario.
Apparently, I'm not the only one displeased by it, because blizzard toned it down slightly.
It doesn't mean its fixed
But it does mean its at least somewhat kinda sorta quasi passable. It will still leave my mouth tasting like bile and stale vomit, but I can at least just close my eyes and endure it, and then get really drunk to forget about it.
Hopefully, before it goes live, they alter it a bit more to make it more passable.
During the confrontation, we no longer kill the sunreaver leader. Magister Hathorel instead ice blocks himself when his HP reaches 10%. But sadly, the other nameless sunreavers with him still die anyways.
Its not a good fix, but it removes at least a little bit of the sting out of it
with any luck there'll be a few other adjustments.

Sooooo apparently whatever happens in Battle doesn't matter at all; thanks Blizz. Also that trailer, hey remember that whole 'the lich king is needed to stop the Scourge?' yeah !@#$ that; welcome to pre-patch where you destroy the rampaging Scourge to go into the Shadowlands.
I have not been less enthused for an expansion since Battle.

So, some of you may or may not have noticed that I've barely visited the site for the past two months.
There's a good reason for that.
And that reason is.............. I FINALLY ESCAPED VENEZUELA!!!!!!!!!!!
I owe this great victory to our very own
Oneforthemoney
and without his help this would have either taken at least another year, or just been flat out impossible.
I am currently residing in colombia (Where I'm fighting tooth and nail to get a permanent residency and avoid being sent back into venezuela) after a failed attempt at getting a Canadian Visa. I'll try again for Canada once I've managed to secure my position here in Colombia, but until I can get a job, and a PC, I'm afraid you'll be seeing very little of me at all. I visit the site from time to time, but posting on a phone is a pain, and I can't really visit a cyber cafe every day.
Just thought you'd like to know.
With regards to Shadowlands, I have mixed feelings about it.
On the one hand, I have a very uncomfortable feeling of Deja Vu. Once again we're chasing a disgraced former warchief of the horde, and clean up their mess in an alien environment outside of Azeroth. If BfA felt a lot like MoP 2.0, Shadowlands feels uncomfortably a lot like WoD 2.0
And that makes me uncomfortable because at least I liked MoP, but I loathed WoD so much I left the game for up to a year in the middle of it.
On the other hand, I'm also pretty hyped for it because the shadowlands is one of the settings (Along with the emerald dream) I've always wanted to visit. Plus, just as Legion was an expansion centered around DHs, Shadowlands is looking like it'll be centered on DKs, my favorite class.
I don't mind them retconning the whole "there must always be a lich king", because honestly? that was pretty #$%&ing stupid in the first place, and I'm not sad to see that idiocy gone. There's potential for great replayability depending on how the covenants are implemented, and that repeatable tower dungeon thing looks intriguing.
Honestly, the only two complaints I have for Shadowlands is that there's no new race or class, not even allied races apparently, and that again we're cleaning up the mess of yet another ex-warchief. Other than that, I'm pretty sold on this expansion, and can't wait to play it when I eventually get a computer.

I guess that ugly pig lord of the shadowlands approached him and dealt with his anti pig slander.
"Being the united pig creatures of the underworld union we had to put him on ... TRIAL for being so .. disconcerning over pigs and even pork."

Can anyone help me figure out how to complete the Lore master achievements? I hit a brick wall once I hit level 60 and can't complete the quests that require you to weaken targets before capturing them in some way. I have tried creating new characters to get around this, but I hit level 60 pretty quickly and I hate spending all the time it takes to get my new characters developed just to turn around and not be able to complete the one or two quests for the achievements. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
