Well I like that the kor'kron are back >_>
I never approved of their undignified and ignoble downfall in MoP, and after two expansions in a row where they were completely absent, I'm very happy to see them back, and once again as they were during Wrath.

I think it's weird that they are back...and being multi-racial; you'd think Battle would be the perfect time to actually, I don't know, show all of the factions actual forces.

Actually, it makes sense if you think about it. This has all the markings of a political move. Its clear Sylvanas is not exactly the most popular leader among the horde (both in-universe as well as among the fanbase), so this could easily be an attempt to appease her opposition.
On the one hand, this move appeases the orc elements of the horde, as she's reinstating, empowering, and giving back its position to an ancient group that has had a long history among the orcs.
And on the other hand, this move appeases the non-orc elements of the horde as she is once again making the Kor'kron multiracial rather than the orc-exclusive state police garrosh turned them into.
And at the same time, she gains access to a special forces elite group to take on the most difficult battles and assigments. Its two birds with one stone. A big PR move, and at the same time, gives her access to the hand-picked best of the best that each race of the horde has to offer.
As for your other point, its not like the Kor'kron act as a replacement for all horde forces. You still see individual armies like Headhunters, Blood Knights, Sunwalkers. Dreadstalkers, Duskwatch, etc. The Kor'kron are simply once again, the elite. As opposed to the de facto go-to Army that garrosh attempted to turn them into.

Eh, maybe you'll see the rest; but I've got a bad feeling we'll be seeing a lot of Horde forces in the Kor'kron armour stomping around the battlefields against Alliance forces all decked out in 7th Legion armour, for more nostalgia to Warcraft 2.

I agree with Adamsm, as much of a good idea the 7th legion and kor'kron is, the application of them leave lot to be desired.
It ends up with non orcs and non humans acting like orcs and humans. But this curse is greater in the alliance. The MoP intro for example. There was a little difference in the horde ones. Alliance, not so much.
Doesn't help that the one kor'korn we see, dress in orc armor with axes.
I suppose it could be some wc2 nostalgia. But I believe it's sloth. That's why alliance is hit harder, their races doesn't have the distinctiveness that the horde ones have, and will never have it in the human empire with it's 7th legion and SI:7. Displaying different armies require more work, and more story with it's culture (it's military culture).
Edit: I feel like I'm repeating a lot on this topic, it's more a question of faith in the writers IMHO for me.

Oh I've got no hope for the story that's coming; too much of it seems like Cata and Mists 2.0 for my mind.

So, next Expac humans will have every class but one based on what you find in Kul Tiras. Wonder which Horde race will get the same thing.

Blood elf druids and shaman when?
Or troll paladins
Post by
Adamsm
Eh, at this point, except for giving Pandas Death Knights, may as well just give all of the class combos to all of the races. I mean, they went all Kaiju for the Zandalari druid forms, so what's some dead/nightmare corrupted forms for Undead and more streamlined versions for the Gnomes or bulky beast forms for Dwarves.

If the Legion was a symphonic metal group
....but seriously, %^&* the idiot bands that Blizzard has been hiring for Blizzcon lately; get these guys, as they have hilariously epic songs that would go well with the venue.

So with Beta dropping, the Mag'har are finally available....and what da $%^&? Yes you have the Brown skin choice, with the choice of tattoos or no tattoos, but there is also a Blackrock skin now as in pure black skin, a gray skin covered with scarification and weird things on the forehead, and a brown skin with the skull paint of Ner'zhul. Seriously, why not just call it Draenor Orc skin instead of Mag'har /shake head

Maybe they're avoiding saying Draenor due to how bad WoD bombed?

Could be. What's 'funny' and will peeve off people is that you do get tattoos with the Mag'har...but they are Hellscream-esque tats on either the shoulders or the upper arms.
But it's not as bad as the Dark Iron; you do have a dark skinned red eye dwarf already available, and the new one is just three skins that are a little darker then the last, and look like the original skin.

Because Mag'har still fits?
Do recall that Mag'har just means "uncorrupted" in orcish. Its not a term exclusive to the orcs from Garadar, any orc who wasn't tainted by the fel is a Mag'har, which technically includes the entire iron horde minus the ones who followed gul'dan

I suppose, but it's still a strange name choice when most of the skins are more from Draenor. After looking over the choices...man did the other races get hosed big time; widest variety is the Orcs, with second being the Dark Irons who get tattoos and flame highlights. The other four races though? Generic; the only variety for the Lightsworn is that the fem Draenei have goat/sheep horns this time around but only four choices, the Highmountains have the moose horns which look silly but the elves are just elves with no real changes.

Well I'm particularly pleased with my nightborne. And while there's not that much difference between a void elf and a blood elf, it does allow me to play a variant of my favorite race in the alliance, which makes doing the alliance content all the more tolerable for me :P
So there's that.
As for the skins being from draenor, I guess its just a simple association that most players did with the term Mag'har and Outland, when it really just applies to any orc that wasn't tainted.
I agree with you that the lightforged really got shafted. Not only they're the only allied race that can't be monks, but also, their customization options are the least unique of the whole bunch, and most of them invisible unless you strip naked. Really, the tattoos are covered up by armor unless you specifically go out of your way to wear those armored bikinis from vanilla (Which are really tacky), and the head options are invisible unless you disable your helmet.
Even when visible, really, gold eyes, new hair color, and tattoos that wont show all that much. Even demon hunters got a better deal than that.

Well.....crap......
A lot of stuff happens on the mag'har recruitment scenario.
while on azeroth only a couple of years have passed since our expedition, when we travel back to draenor, its present day draenor, so from their point of view, over 30+ years have passed since Archie's defeat.
Okay, so far so good.
All orc clans united under one banner, with hellscream as warchief. Fine, no biggie.
The dreanei however, under the leadership of high exarch yrel, have gone all xe'ra on us, trying to force all the denizens of draenor into the light, whether they want to or not. Some orcs willingly converted, but several more were brainwashed or forced.
Hmm wat?
Calling themselves "The Lightbound" this cult of draenei and orcs have killed many, including Durotan. o_O
Before he died though, Durotan and Draka, had a child. The kid is not Go'el however. But a girl called Gera'ya. Yep, draenor's equivalent of thrall is a woman. Dunno if she's a shaman too. O_O
Grom's son joined the lightbound too. WHAT?!?!?!?
We help them on their fight and they send some volunteers with us, led by she-thrall.
Wow. Just.....wow. So really, the entire wod story was ENTIRELY pointless. Draenor gets stuck in a hopeless war anyways.
This could explain why the alliance isn't recruiting from draenor too. I doubt they'd want to associate with an extremist tyrannical cult.

Damn it all!
I may not have been Yrel's biggest fan, but she and Durotan were literally the only people I even remotely gave a crap about in that expansion. But apparently fighting alongside the orcs to save her world from the Legion, having Velen sacrifice himself, none of that mattered. Let's go do to the orcs what they did to us. That makes sense. Grom's kid still ends up an !@#$%^&. Grom himself is somehow a hero despite literally all the #$%^ he did, and the person who cleaned up his mess becomes a villain.
Warlords. Even when it's over, it still finds ways to suck.

It really is such a shame, because it's literally pointless. We're never going back there. None of it mattered in the least. The whole thing was filler, so it begs the question 'Why?' And the only reason I can think of is that they want to try and make a more 'grey against grey' thing with the Light without bringing it in to the main verse.
