Wave 2 is today, it involves karazhan, and an increased tempo on the demon invasions (increased by 300%)
.
Wait, it is!
Quick! To the internet!
Also, one handed weapon drops for spellcasters? Come on Blizz!

Its not live yet. The quest will be added today, but I guess it'll be done later in the afternoon?
Also yes, onehanded weapons for spellcasters. And with no offhands either D=

Ah, I was under impression that Mardum was a world 'steeped in fel energies' such as Nathreza or Argus, making them like the Nether.
Rankk, what you say makes sense, but that whole timeline crap is seriously weird.
Didn't they retcon Archimonde's death in the Nether? I've checked to make sure, but I can't find any source that claims that he did still die a perma-death. (I remember reading that this was changed last minute.)

Archimondes death is inconclusive. It is not decided if the cinema death or mythic death is canon. IIRC.
What kind of one handed weapon for spellcasters? Like swords, maces or wands? My mage would love swords. Hence, Felo'melorn is love, on fire.

It's a sword for Magi.
And Mardum is the prison world that Sargeras set up when he was still good...and then broke it open. But the fact that the things we 'killed' there showed up on the Shore shows it wasn't seeped enough in corruption.

Yep, very. They still haven't answered any questions regarding what happen to individuals that are not BORN demons, but become demons. If demons are one and the same across all timelines, then, if in some alternate timeline Velen accepted the gift of sargeras, then all of the velens across all the universes would become demonic too?

Its inconclusive. As morginar pointed out, the game doesn't clarify which death is canon, the one in mythic, or the one in normal. I pointed out that the final phase of his fight in mythic is directly in the twisting nether, thus it would make sense that his death would be final there, but we'll have to wait and see if he ever shows up again.

Not many.
Sword for Fire mages.
Dagger for shadow priests
Technically dagger for demonology warlocks (Though the real artifact is the offhand, the skull of the man'ari. Similarly to how the artifact for prot warriors is the shield in the offhand, the sword is an afterthought)
Mace for Resto shamans
oddly enough a 2handed mace for holy paladins
And Fist for elemental shamans
All the other casters (Frost mage, Arcane mage, Destro lock, afli lock, Balance Druid, Restro Druid, and healer monk) get staffs.

While we're on the topic of Artifact weapons.
I haven't kept up with Legion news, because I wasn't expecting it to be this playable. But if someone could give me quick answers to a couple questions...
Does anyone have a link to all the Artifact weapons? Like, pictures, lore, and maybe stats?
Can we transmog Artifacts? For example, if I went arms on my warrior, could I turn it into Arcanite Reaper to keep my look?
How gimped would we be without Artifacts? For example, on my Night Elf Demon Hunter, I kind of want to look for a fist weapon off-hand, so I can have glaive+fist, for aesthetic reasons.

Artifacts can be transmogged; so you can have whatever you would like to use over top the item. There are also skins you can unlock during questing.

To add on what others said, yep, artifacts have multiple skins and color variations that are unlocked from a wide range of activities, including questing, PVE and PVP, and you can mog your artifact to look like old weapons, but not the other way around.
That being said, no, you can't wield an artifact and an old weapon. Artifacts occupy both slots of your character. In the case of demon hunters for example, the glaives are a single item in your inventory, but when double-clicked, both of them go to your respective hands, you can't unequip the offhand without unequipping your main-hand.
As for how gimped you'd be without your artifact? very. Not only are they of a MUCH higher ilvl than old weapons (Their basic unupgraded item level is 750. A mythic warforged weapon from HFC is ilvl 745. To say nothing of how high their ilvl is when upgraded with relics) but also the perks in them are extremely important, and in the case of most specs, completely game-changing. Particularly the fabled golden-dragon traits.
Much like the garrisons, they are an unavoidable and unskippable part of legion. Whether or not they'll fare better or worse than garrisons remains to be seen. I mean, garrisons looked like a good idea on paper. We just had no idea what we were getting into when they added them.

So there won't be any non-artifact weapons in Legion?
That's... actually pretty disappointing.

There wont be.
And why is it disappointing? In terms of weapon models there's more variety now than there's ever been, and unlike previous expansions that had maybe the one or two good looking weapons in each category and the rest looked like trash, at least here, the overwhelming majority of the artifact appearances look amazing.
As for the thrill and joy of getting a weapon upgrade, that is still preserved, in the form of relics. Relics will replace weapon drops, both in quests, rare mobs, and dungeon/raid bosses. Relics are socketable items that you can slot into your artifact, and they raise its item level, which increases their raw stats, and weapon-damage.
So even though technically you'll only have the one weapon equipped for a whole new expac, the thrill and joy of getting a "new" weapon is preserved, in the form of relics which make your weapon hit harder, and skins which make your weapon look differently.

Right, but there will be a lack of variety. Like I mentioned, I really wanted a fist weapon off-hand on my Alliance Demon Hunter, and that's impossible.
It falls right in with the removal of talent trees, the removal of glyphs, the near-removal of gems, and the nerfing of enchantments. It's hurting build diversity.
Another example in that, for Havoc, I really want to try a build with loads of haste and the talent that folds Demon's Bite into auto-attacks. The problem is, Demon Hunter gear is focused on Crit over Haste, and at best I can get a couple hundred more haste from enchants.
Back in Wrath? I was able to take my DK's 2.4 speed weapon, and stack haste until it was 0.8. I could literally turn my character into a machine gun of white damage, and it was bloody awesome. That's just flat out not possible anymore, and it leaves a LOT of build ideas dead in the water.

They have added a skill tree with the artefact. Not that I found it joyful in cataclysm.

Mah glyphs! That's what's missing! Dammit. I want my ice elemental back.

Isn't there a bunch of old glyph toy spells at places to purchase?
I know one can barter for such for mages in dalaran, in the shop under the silver cov. AH JP vendor, I believe there was similar spell modifiers there like dalaran arc brilliance and a polymorphic spell.

Right, but there will be a lack of variety.
That's true for some classes, but not all of them.
As a DK for example, I use two-handers, that means
Calamity's Edge
simply MUST be my weapon of choice, not just for me, but also for every ret paladin, every blood DK, every arms warrior, and every fury warrior. That's FIVE specs, running with the same weapon. If it wasn't for transmog, we'd all be wielding the exact same weapon appearance too.
In Legion, Blood DKs have over 20 unique weapons exclusive to them, Unholy DKs have another 20 also unique to them, ret pallies have 20 unique weapons to them, Arms have 20 more unique to them, and Fury has 20 more unique to them.
That to me looks like a hell of a lot more variety than we had before. To say nothing of all the staff-wielding classes, who now have plenty of unique and wildly different staffs to wield in battle.
That being said, I see your point, certain specs got shafted because of very restrictive transmog limitations.
Like I mentioned, I really wanted a fist weapon off-hand on my Alliance Demon Hunter, and that's impossible.
Look at the bright side, you can transmog your warglaive to look like a sword, mace, axe, or other warglaives. So you HAVE variety.
Windwalker Monks, Elemental Shamans, Shadow Priests, Demonology warlocks and Assassin/Subtlety rogues have it far worse. They're limited to nothing but Fists and Daggers.
The aforementioned staff specs can only mog their weapons to other staffs (with some exceptions. Druids and monks can also mog their staffs like polearms)
So all things considered, it could be worse.(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

Hey Atik, you can still have glaive/fist weapon look; transmogging an artifact glaive let's you pick both weapons for what you want them to look like. Fist Weapons are a choice for the DH.

Really? From my experience on live, Glaives can only become other glaives, swords, or axes. No daggers or fist weapons.
