Wow, this is still going on?

Also, I'm kinda fuzzy about you including the blood elves on that list. Sure they're horde characters now, but those were all alliance characters during the first and second war.
Then
he wasn't
they weren't and we kill
ed him
them.
You misunderstand my friend. They could count as characters the alliance lost. But they don't count as Horde characters dating back to the second war that are still alive. The Blood elves are relatively new to the horde. This is like you trying to include the Pandaren on the list of horde heroes still alive dating back from the second war, even though the Huojin only joined the horde recently.
Wow, this is still going on?
You should had seen some of the more infamous debates dating back in 2009 =P those kept going for MONTHS.

They're heroes from the 2nd War. They weren't Alliance in the Third War. They joined the Horde. It's close enough for me.

They weren't Alliance in the Third War.
Yes they were. The separation only happened in TFT which was a few years after the third war was won. Even then they were still alliance for half of their campaign in TFT. And for the other half they were unaffiliated. They're new to the horde, they dont' count as iconic HORDE figures dating back from the second game still alive.

Yes they were.
Barring Kael'thas's little group (which is questionable, considering Garithos wasn't affiliated with anyone else in the Alliance), the High Elves quit the Alliance after the 2nd War, remember?

Samaara (I hope she's a Draenei Female Paladin hunting down her serial killer Man'ari daughter, Moorinth, who's seducing and draining the life out of people in Draenor. And you have to choose sides between them when they fight and whoever you help swears their loyalty to your Garrison. If you choose Moorinth she will disguise herself as her mom so no one is suspicious of her. But hopefully if you choose Moorinth, she'll also be turned into a Banshee by the Scourge in the expansion after WoD. Cookie if you get the reference)
Lol, you copied/pasted my post from MMO-Champion! (with slight edits, Man'ari is better than succubus)

And if you remember, that was little more than a temper tantrum. When the third war came aknocking they were fighting side by side with the alliance. There were elven forces in dalaran, there were human forces in silvermoon, elves left with jaina for kalimdor, etc.
Anasterian declared that the elves were leaving the alliance, but other than maybe the nobility, just about everyone ignored his command and acted like nothing happened. Even the manual of Warcraft 3 states this. There were still elves in churches, there were still elves in magi academies, there were still elves in every alliance front, because frankly, nobody else gave a rat's ass about what Anasterian said.
And Kael'thas' group was anything but little. That was the entire military force of silvermoon, commanded by what was left of the royal house.
Considering Garithos wasn't affiliated with anyone else in the Alliance
I'm gonna sound condescending for saying this but: you guys really hate to admit that he was alliance don't you? its hard to reconcile a monster to your faction? there's no lore to support he was rogue, or that he wasn't affiliated with anyone else in the alliance. He was a Grand Marshal in the alliance and commanded every single allied force in the north.

He was a Grand Marshal in the alliance and commanded every single allied force in the north. To be completely technical here: He was the leading member of the attempt to give a new birth to the Grand Alliance, but he was not working under the command of any of the existing Kings. All of his forces were merely remnants who had survived the Scourge purge.
For all intents and purposes he was an Alliance, but in a similar vein to how Rend had his Blackrock Horde on the Eastern Kingdoms while Thrall has his Kalimdor Horde.

I'm more partial so Samara myself, but it would be awesome if blizzard implements at least ONE reference to Mass Effect.

Are you referring to the Second War as a temper tantrum or the elves leaving the Alliance?

The supposed leaving of the alliance was just Anasterian throwing a tantrum. None of the elves actually paid him any mind. Come the third war, there were still elves in every church, in every mage academy, and in every alliance frontline. When what was left of the alliance host was gathered up, there the elves were, when Jaina took off, there the elves were. By all intents and purposes even in the third war the elves were still 100% alliance, despite the tantrum thrown by Anasterian.
And when the split between High and Blood elves happened, the High Elves were still to the end a part of the alliance.
When the expedition to draenor was organized (This too was after the second war and after the Anasterian Tantrum) elven rangers led by Alleria herself were there in the front line.
So Benzene's argument that they left at the end of the second war, and were not part of the alliance during the third is kinda void.

Um...No Rank; the Second War was still on when the Draenor Expedition was made. It was after the Dark Portal was destroyed that the High Elves left. And those who were in the Churches and Dalaran were there because they were part of the Organizations.

Not really, no.
There were elves, but they were in Dalaran as mages, students and so forth. Private citizens, not the nation or their army.
The ones that Arthas found were priests at best and few of them, and by the time Jaina was fleeing Lordaeron Silvermoon and its environs had been sacked, so those were refugees. The elven army was only really active in Quel'Thalas fighting against Arthas, and that was literally when he was at the gates.
As for the expedition to Draenor, I was under the impression that was considered a part of the Second War.

Last I checked, all those elves were neutral (and a small fraction of the population).
Also, I'd like to see a source on the humans fighting in Quel'thalas.

and in every alliance frontlineThat's game play vs story though; the Alliance only had the Elvish Rangers for the ranged assault so that doesn't exactly count. But as you pushed into the High Elven Lands, there were no Human forces; they were all Elven(and I just checked the list of units you fought on Wowpedia; even the Swordman is the High Elf version), except for one Random Human Archmage(since the Archmage in WC3 was only human).

I like 'em both. Samara's my second favorite ME character, they're both awesome :D
