There is a difference between the Elemental Lords and the standard Spirits; the Lords were forged by the Old Gods and they in turn corrupted other Elemental beings, and it was those who were sealed away in the Elemental Planes at the hands of the Titans.
The other Spirits we've seen are representations of the Elements of the World and how they appear to the Natives of the lands. The four Spirits of the Wandering Isle/Pandaria are the way they are because of the Pandarens and how they co-exist with them. Same as how there are the 4 Elemental Furies on Draenor, and how they differ from the Elemental Lords.

Yes! I knew it, Anduin does NOT get killed.
Much like Hamuul before him, garrosh only THINKS he's dead, but in reality he's just gravely wounded.
The same thing happens for the horde, Garrosh THINKS that Vol'jin is dead, but he's still very much alive.

Figured he wouldn't die; not after everything they pumped into him and not for such a 'simple' reason....especially after that idiotic and horrific mass slaughter that happened in Tides of War....

Was it the slaughter which was horrific, or the way it was handled/written?

Both; horribly handled, written and the fact they killed off pretty much every single high ranking General or above except for Shandris and Vereesa among the Alliance. Next to Cycle of Hatred, Tides of War is the worst Warcraft book out there.

Not sure how seriously to take this, but
apparently
Forsaken can even live through a decapitation.

That....actually doesn't surprise me; figured as an Undead, it would be possible to put the head back on the body. Forsaken may be under the zombie principle where as long as the brain is intact, they can keep on in unlife.

Anyone else notice the small similarity between the
Shado-Pan
and the
Night's Watch
?
Things like "I am the Watcher on the Wall" and "I am the sword in the darkness/shadows."
Also, I came up with a nifty rank guide for the Horde and Alliance:

I just found out something very interesting about Varian.
He's most definitely one of the most unoriginal characters to have ever been made for this game after I saw this. Not only his backstory is more or less a watered down version of Thrall's, but take a look at this:
He's a very clear expy of a character from the Warhammer 40k universe. More specifically
Ragnar Blackmane
Think about it, both of them are young kings, hot headed, have wolf motiffs, sport a pony tail, use large unpractical, extremely show-off teal-blue armors with animal engravings......... The glove fits.
Still not convinced? Compare
This (Varian)
to
This (Ragnar)
You can't possibly deny that there's more than a passing resemblance.

The color is far from being the one similarity.

And aye, lots of things 'ripped' off other things.

And the whole wolf motif.
Meh.
WC started with
orcs and humans
. As if that hadn't been done before.
Not quite. One of the very reasons warcraft became so popular was on how VASTLY different it was from your average orc vs humans.
Warcraft has the most unique orcs, trolls, goblins, minotaurs, werewolves, vampires, and I may even dare say dragons than most other fantasy settings.
Where else have you seen a warcraft troll? Which setting had orcs like warcraft before it? (Yes warhammer had green orcs before warcraft, but other than the color, they were no different than your average tolkien orc)
So yes, Warcraft Orcs and Humans was somewhat similar to the gazillion other orc vs human settings seen everywhere, but it was also OVERWHELMINGLY DIFFERENT.
Varian on the other hand is both visually, conceptually, and even thematically identical to his Warhammer counterpart, down to personality, and his background is a carboncopy of thrall's.

Yeah but before World of Warcraft came out Rank, the Dark Horde and the Alliance were just the standard fantasy stereotypes. Trolls of Warcraft 2 were like quite a few other ones; it wasn't till the Darkspear showed up that they began to change a bit.

Fix'd.
Fixed my fix.
