"Just don’t expect a Happily Ever After. We just don’t do those here."
This line makes me worry, is warcraft gonna have a downer ending? Or just not a "and they all lived happily ever after, every last character" type ending?
nope, what they mean by that is "And so the bad guy was defeated, but don't worry, he'll be back next week, and the next one, and the next one and the next one after that"

No mention of the worgen or draenei. :/
And, as usual, that article really did not accomplish anything. I feel like they were trying to defend themselves, rather than rectify the source of the problem (or, at least what some people think is the problem). Lately I feel like Blizzard is a whole lot of talk, but not a lot of action.

I'm certain the whole point of mists of pandaria is to teach the horde and alliance to stop fighting, hence the pandaren being neutral. I think the pandaren are supposed to get them to see the pointlessness in their fighting.
Except MoP is the calm before the storm as the war between the factions is ramping up to a level not seen since the time of the original wars.

MoP isn't the calm, it's going to be the entire storm but it's not going to end there. Someone will screw up (I'm hoping it's the Alliance to be honest because I am tired of them being pristine) and make the war even worse.
They called it the calm at Blizzcon.

I too was under the impression that "now" was the calm, and the Mists of Pandaria was the storm.

I sorta doubt it; why would the work ramp up over one continent? Even with the addition of the Pandarens to both sides, you'd still have the old hatreds which are still going strong working against everyone else to keep the war marching on.
And I don't know, just from the way it was said, it sounded like the Calm was meant to be MoP, with the storm breaking across the planet afterward, as with Deathwing dead, there was the moment of calm with the founding of a new continent and race.

Aren't the Horde and Alliance fighting over Pandaria and the riches it holds? On the main site it does it does make me believe that they're not really at war yet, but the violence will be ramped up.
How are they
not
at war after fighting for so many years...?

I'm certain that the pandaren are supposed to be what finally gets the alliance and horde to stop fighting, due to their balanced nature. I really don't see them cranking out the faction war thing past pandaria.....
I don't see it happening: Humans, Undead, Worgen and Undead won't just forget the past because a new group tells them too.
Edit: Also, the entire game is still about faction vs faction wars; if it wasn't, all races would be part of one big group.
