Aye... of course, we've already dealt with a crazed ambitious gnome for the last few years, do we need another one already?
More gnome content is always good. Also, Thermaplugg was not a very good villain.
thermaplugg was as threatening as
this
guy, great to laugh about him, and wonder who'd be idiot enough to actually take him seriously (cough-gelbin-cough) but nowhere near a threat to take seriously and actually believe he'd be harmful to you.
Zalazane was kinda generic too, but at least he wasn't a comic relief villian.

Turns out Blizz decided not to make the worgen/goblin DKs a complete plot hole... Here's the dialogue from the "surprise" quests for both races.
Worgen
Lord Harford
Come to finish the job, have you?
You'll look me in the eyes when...
<Name>?
<Name>, I'd recognize that face anywhere... What... What have they done to you, <Name>?
You don't remember me? We were both servants of Arugal back in Silverpine Forest. We put up with his merciless torture for ages. It was you who saved me on that fateful night when we escaped Shadowfang Keep.
Without you I would have died. YOU! The most noble worgen i ever knew.
What have they done to you, <Name>? How could this have happened?
Remember the worgen you once were, brother/sister! You were our savior! Fight this!
Listen to me <Name>. You must fight against the Lich King's control. He is a monster that wants to see this world - our world - in ruin.
Don't let him use you to accomplish his goals. You were once a hero and you can be again. Fight, damm you! Fight his control!
Kinght Commander Plaguefist yells: What's going on in there? What's taking so long, <Name>?
Lord Harford says: There... There's no more time for me. I'm done for. Finish me off, <Name>. Do it or they'll kill us both. <Name>... Remember Gilneas, our beloved home. This world is worth saving.
Do it, <Name>! Put me out of my misery!
Goblin
Gally Lumpstain: C... can't we work this out somehow?
Gally Lumpstain: Alright, j... just let me... let me st... stand up.
Gally Lumpstain: <name>?
Gally Lumpstain: <name>, I'd recognize that face anywhere... what... what have they done to you <name>?
Gally Lumpstain: You don't remember me <name>? I lost count of the number of jobs you and I ran back in the day on Kezan. Then I picked up a real bad Kaja'Cola habit and you saved me! It was you who took me to Kalimdor to join the Steamwheedle Cartel. You were the only good goblin I knew. That's how I ended up in the Argent Dawn, because I knew it's what you woulda done. How could this have happened to you?
Gally Lumpstain: Remember the Goblin you once were sister/brother! You were my best friend! Fight this!
Gally Lumpstain: Listen to me, <name>. You must fight against the Lich King's control. He is a monster who wants to see this world - our world - in ruin. Don't let him use you to accomplish his goals. You were once a hero and can be again. Fight, damn you! Fight his control!
Knight Commander Plaguefist yells: What's going on in there? What's taking so long <name>?
Gally Lumpstain: There... There's no more time for me. I'm done for. Finish me off, <name>. Do it or they'll kill us both. <name>... Remember Kezan, our beloved home. This world is worth saving.
Gally Lumpstain: Do it, <name>! Put me out of my misery!

The Worgen one is still a lore hole..... as it speaks about both Arugal and Gilneas....

I think they retconned(?) Arugal into being Gilnean. Also, they could very well be from Pyrewood Village. (the villagers there got turned into worgen by infection like the player ones I believe)

The Worgen one is still a lore hole..... as it speaks about both Arugal and Gilneas....
is a double lore-hole since as we learn by doing the quests in the worgen starting zone, the gilnean worgens learned to "tame their inner beast" due to the night elves, and that ritual you do, and only after doing that ritual you can swap forms at any time..........
when or how did the DK worgens (or genn greymane for that matter) learned to become humans?

I think the idea is that Worgen DK were able to "tame their inner beast" long before Krennan made the antidote or the Gilnean found the elves at Tal'doren during the Forsaken invasion. So, the Worgen DKs are the first Worgen to be able to willingly shift between their human and worgen form. I'm still not entirely convinced with this explanation but well, better than nothing.

The Light and the Darkness: Velen.

Okay, so, I need some help here. Right, the scenario: On the 25th of September, the server is hosting an event in Eversong heralding the rediscovery of Quel'delar, a weapon symbolic of the elves and its restoration is even more symbolic, along with that of the Sunwell. In character, however, the sword will be considered to be in the neutral hands of Dalaran. Now, my issue. My character who will be attending is
a bit of a bookworm
, so I have volunteered to do a speech, explaining the history of the blade and why it is so important.
The main issue for me is that I seem to be treading on a very fine line between IC knowledge and OOC knowledge. I know the history of the blade, and my character has literally spent days immersing herself in the grand libraries of Silvermoon, absorbing the knowledge that she can. However, the backdrop on the server is that IC, the heroes have begun returning from Northrend as the Lich King has fallen - this was commemorated in another event. Therefore, more news from the North is slowly making its way across the world, although of course Bolvar's true fate remains concealed.
The main question, I suppose, is if I have the chronology of events right and if any of this knowledge, given the context, is too much of a stretch of the imagination.
To my understanding, Quel'delar was created by the five Dragonflights as the sister blade to Quel'serrar, the high blade of the kaldorei, many millenia ago. Quel'delar was inherited for generations, and crossed the sea with what would become the high elves. Eventually, it passed into the hands of Thalorian Dawnseeker, who fell at the gates of the Sunwell. Later, the blade was picked up by the blood elf Lana'thel, before she was slain in Icecrown trying to shatter the frozen throne as one of Kael'thas' forces. The blade was lost and eventually broken by Lana'thel, who became Blood Queen of the San'layn and had grown to hate the sword, before being discovered several years later by the Argent Crusade. It was restored by the Kirin Tor, using the powers of the Sunwell.
Is that too much knowledge for the character to have on the blade by now, or is it sufficient? Eh, just confirming things really...as I'm always pretty insecure about using the lore in-game.

The question is, do you know who the Blood Queen is? I am aware that for most bosses, their names are generally well known, being notorious criminals and all.
But ICC has been locked up tight, and the Blood Queen probably wasn't known for very long before she was killed. I know her name-plate says Lana'thel, but the question is whether, IC, The sin'dorei know who she is.

IT'S A TRAP!
WoW is just one big reference. Honestly, this is why I say I write WoW fanfics rather than Warcraft fanfics. Because I'm just as silly.
Yeah, but the Speeches part; the first one is Braveheart, the next is the Fugitive and the last is from Independence Day, and the 'It's a trap! It's a fully functional *insert name of the bomb here*!"(can't remember, and Lothar is down so can't check heh); just made me sigh.

Blizzard employed Admiral Ackbar for the assault on Gnomeregan? Now all we need is for Lillian Voss to actually say 'you have failed me for the last time, admiral,' when she kills her father...

My guess is that they do as she refers to herself as a friend of Thalorien Dawnseeker (which people definitely knew about) and as a wielder of the sword. Surely, the Sin'dorei would know who in the hell would pick the blade up, unless she did so covertly.
She may, however, be lesser known than Dawnseeker.
The stuff about Lana'thel was one of the main points which I was insecure about, mainly about how prominent she was before becoming the Blood Queen. I am inclined to say that she must have been powerful for the Lich King to make her one of his strongest lieutenants and ruler of a powerful branch of the Scourge, but we had never really heard about her until patch 3.3.
