All my Illidan rage is here heh.

Read it and largely agree with it. But I forgive him because, despite his insanity (who knows when it
really
started) he's still awesome.

I feel really mad about what happened to Illidan because he really reminded my of myself. Doing what's best, despite how people might perceive it. And then Tyrande's choosing his brother over him, despite all of his best efforts and effectively crushed his confidence, feeling unable to live up to his golden eyes. And he eventually had those eyes (his constant reminder of his failure) destroyed because of that. In a hope to still stop the Burning Legion.
And then the Second Well of Eternity?
That's what make me the most mad. No, not about Illidan. About Malfurion's behavior. The Original Well stood for at least 5000 years (based on what we know about Malfurion, Illidan, and Tyrande's ages) before the War of the Ancient, and nothing bad happened. The problem was due to an abuse of magic, not the presence of it. Illidan knew this. Malfurion, however, his brother, has decided that he knows best, and determines that the Well was definitely the problem. Illidan recreates the Night Elves source of life and joy, their cradle of civilization for thousands of years, and Malfurion says that they must all give it up forever. Because he says so.
Wowwiki says Malfurion was astonished by Illidan's lack of remorse. I know that I wouldn't feel any damn remorse either. I had the foresight to regenerate the power that was sacrificed in the war so that our people can thrive again, and you're telling me I'm insane and should feel sorry for this? No! What, shall I bow at your feet now, brother? Kiss your toes? Congratulate you on your success on taking the love of my life?
And then they lock him in the ground for 10,000 years with no light, no one to talk to, and barely any room to move (I'm actually reminded of that Law and Order: SVU episode where Stabler is voluntarily locked up in "The Hole" to see how the defendant's plea of prison induced psychosis stacks up. Stabler started hearing voices after only 3 days).
Malfurion just seems like a bully to me. "Do things my way or I'll lock you in the ground."
Of course, I've only managed to make it 18 chapters through the Well of Eternity, so my qualification to judge it is still embryonic at best, but I really like Illidan so far. Especially given his punishment. 10,000 years locked alone underground is enough to make me feel sorry for Hitler.

All my lore knowledge is based on what Wowwiki provides, does reading the books give a more clear picture of the events and the relationships between the characters or does wowwiki provide enough information to piece it together correctly?

Just more details. Wowwiki generally does provide all the facts. The books provide quotes which provide tone.
For example, if I were to read the other War of the Ancients book and read a quote by Illidan like, say: "Now we have the well again! All bow before my mighty might and my amazing magic well! Let's have a Burning Crusade party!", my opinion might change. Or, more likely, I'd get angry at Knaak for terrible writing and trying to change already well-established characters.

He hasn't done that yet in your eyes? O_O

Personally, I enjoyed reading the Ancients Trilogy, as well as Day and Night of the dragon. I understand your reasons, but I think your being just a bit too hard on Knaak.

His Sues are atrocious, sorry to be hard on him but really, what did he expect? He made Rhonin go back in time, teach Illidan magic, hear Night Elves in his sleep, seduce every woman he came across better than a succubus....I could go on.

seduce every woman he came across better than a succubusAlright, your just having fun using that. Knaak keeps Rhonin loyal to Vereesa heh.
And only 2 more months till Dragons of Outland heh.

He may do, but it's even worse that he doesn't try to be a womaniser but just is one with no conceited effort.

So...
Anyone hear that Saurfang had a voice? I didn't realize they had vocals in the Battle for Undercity until I just did it, and Saurfang actually got a voice! I'm so giddy!

Heh, looks like 3.2 was a big patch..... but mein gott that voice for Sylvanas /covers ears in pain and agony. They should have left her mute instead of using that crappy voice actor.

Four: Genn Garrosh Velen and now Cairne.

Just the 4.
And by the way, not directed at you Darkton, just out there... The Alliance's big cover for Varian trying to kill Thrall at Undercity was that he was still full of adrenaline and in battle-mode. It made sense. But that's certainly not what his voice would indicate. He tells Thrall that he's going to kill him in a perfectly calm and collected voice.

Is there somewhere I can hear the voices?Youtube. Just make sure it's a patch 3.2 video.

First you harrass Varian for being to angry, and now calm?
Wow... just wow.I didn't harass him for anything.
And telling someone you're going to kill them in a calm voice can make a very big difference. In this case, it likely means that he meant it, and that it wasn't just him losing his cool, as was claimed.
