ohh and also forgot to add, it seems the theory that there could be a flotilla of airships in cataclysm may be true, because a horde airship identical to Orgrim's hammer is on gilneas :P
It could be evidence of a flotilla, but it could also be a phased event that takes place before the Hammer goes down in Deepholm.

Aye, of course, if there is more then one Hammer, that probably means there's more Breakers out there too.

Thanks to the magic of TVTropes (thanks Lolotea),
I have found out exactly what has been going on with the lore as of late.

Yeah, but I honestly think that most of this is the nature of the MMORPG gameplay. People want content pushed out faster than Blizzard has time to write in all of the really juicy character development. After all, there's only so much that you can put into a quest chain.
If the story were expanding more quickly in the areas of extended lore (novels, mangas, etc.), we might not see the conflict as being unreasonable or unnecessary.
Seems like some lore detail is being put into the larger chains and events, etc, but most of the quests and storylines are being drawn from notes rather than stories.

what have you done skree? :P now I've been over 30 min browsing multiple tropes all over the site xD.
aparently both Varian and Garrosh fit perfectly the stereotype of
The Wesley
to a certain degree Thrall also fits in that category, but since his actions are bening and move the plot in a positive direction, few people complain about it.

Malfurion also fits in there.

a lot you should know just how long took me to actually get up when i started reading the tropes of Mass Effect.....
don't know what wichcraft was conjured on that site, but once u're in, is too hard to get out.

same here, I wonder how long it will be before I make a "troper" out of someone else too?
I love TVTropes so much, even though it eats my life.
fixed it for ya bro' :P
and Skree, neither Malfurion nor Rhonin apply for "the wesley" they are sueish characters, and can be described as "creator pets" but they get little to no time "on-screen" so while the fans hate them, the writers are generous enough to keep them away from us.
with Varian and Garrosh is the exact oposite, because the fans hate them (and some love them) but the creators not only love them, they shove them at our faces making the world spin arround them, and make everything about them in all posible ways.
this game has long since stopped being Alliance vs Horde, it has become a simple Varian Vs Garrosh.

They are wesleys as well. Many people jump on the hate-bandwagon for the sake of it.

na, "The Wesley" is a combination of 3 tropes, wich is "mary sue/marty stue" "Creator Pet" and most important than all the others "Character Focus".
when one of these 3 is missing, then the character itself is not a wesley.
Varian stands as a wesley because like all mary sues he's perfect, never loses a battle, is invincible, got a shiny armor out of thin air, and never makes a mistake, as a creator pet because those who created him are quite proud of him, and Character Focus because he alone has had more screentime in the past year, than all the other alliance leaders combined for the past 4 years.
Rince and repeat for Garrosh.
Rhonin is a sue, too perfect to be real, he is a character pet, because kanaak ADORES HIM, but he has little to zero character focus, in fact those who didn't even read kanaak's books will hardly know anyting about him.
his entire role in WOTLK consisted on breaking a fight between varian and garrosh, and sending a message to the titans using algalon's code. that's it.
is too small to be a wesley.
-.- my god what am I saying? I'm talking like a troper already? T_T

The books place far too much focus on Rhonin than key figures. War of the Ancients, anyone?

exept that the books are only background to the game, it's in the game where "on-screen" time counts.
you can skip the books and play the game, but it hardly matters if you read the books and skip the games.
besides, he got 4 full books, ok, but there's 12 books out there, not counting the comics.
so, he only got 1/3 of the attention of the books, wich serve only as background, and only a 3% of attention in WOTLK, zero on TBC, zero on vainilla, and most likely zero on cataclysm..... unless he gets greedy and wishes to take a place in the council.
or god-forbid HE of all people becomes the new guardian (I know for a fact that kanaak would have an orgasm if that happens)
