@Morec I'm pretty sure its implied we did. We're not that retarded ¬¬
Implied you did what?
Sorry, I am retarded.
Destroy the phylacteries =p.
Oh. But then why wasn't there a quest to take the thing to some pally or something like there was in Eastern Plagulands for Kel?
And even if we did, think of the necromancers. And all of those who
would
go to get the Lich King's crown - had Bolvar not have taken it.

I imagine Tirion had to step in and do that job for us since we're incompetent.

*Shrug* Blizzards idea makes sense to me, honestly. We defeated those in Icecrown, but in all in Plaguelands and the other zones too? Surely the built back up! And being that close to civilized areas...

We wiped them out though, broke the Plaguelands, killed the replacement for the Baron, and smashed Scholomance.

Just want to do a quick note here:
The Strategic Relevance of Gilneas to the Horde -
Gilneas lies on a peninsula, jutting into the Great Sea and Baradin Bay. The peninsula provides direct access to the lower Eastern Kingdoms by sea, as well as an effective port to make a blockade on Stromgarde. The waterway that runs between Lordaeron and Khaz Modan also allows access to the easterly areas of the lower Eastern Kingdoms.
If the Horde were to take Gilneas, it would give them all of these things. Relying on the current ports in the Northern Tirisfal Glades, Quel'Danas, or Silvermoon would greatly increase the amount of time it would take for a naval fleet to reach the lower parts of the Eastern Kingdoms.
Naval advancements require efficiency, that's why the Western Fleet of the US was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in WWII. It was a central location, allowing for movement in all directions, quickly. The same principle applies to Gilneas. The only better area to capture would be Kul Tiras, but one would have to do so via Naval or Air forces, rather than the easier to field and less expensive ground forces that could invade Gilneas.
(Sorry, I've seen too many people comment about this in the past couple of days, wanted to get this out there.)

The Horde doesn't need "a port in Lordaeron", just "another port in Lordaeron".Heh aye.

If the guardian actually does what he's supposed to do and protect us from danger, what's the point of us Heroes from a PvE standpoint? I don't read the comics (really dislike that kind of drawing) but it seems that the Ahn'Qiraj War Effort was already rendered almost useless by Med'an story.C'thun was 'dead' for the purpose of the comics; Cho'Gall was trying to bring him back to life. It could be that were doing quests to help the Council and the Guardian, who's probably at Hyjal as well heh.

I don't know about that; in the epic poem/story of Dragonhunt, even Agewynn needed help against the Demon hordes that came with the Avatar of Sargeras; while she battled the Avatar, the Dragons were dealing with the extra demons that were still spilling out of the portal.
And well, there's only one Guardian heh; even he can't be everywhere at once.

My biggest issue, I think, is that Metzen makes it sound like the Horde has no port on the Eastern Kingdoms, which isn't the case.

Well... technically, we are the robins no matter what heh; any major fight with any Lore type's around us are the actual Heroes, we're merely the faceless soldiers who march along beside them. But again, there is only one Guardian, who can only be in so many places; and most of his duties are dealing with an influx of demon or Old God forces. I can't see Med'an marching off to fight against Deathwing when there are other threats; such as Ragnaros and C'thun(possibly) or another Old God rising up to fight against us.
Even in new Hyjal, it's going to be Malfurion and Thrall who are the big heroes when he finally falls, not us heh.

I still see many figureheads talking to heroes as equal allies, in fact, heroes are who acted in Ulduar (post big ass battle outside it's gates) and heroes are what composed the armies in ICC. The guardian would really above that, otherwise he's pointless.Heh, well, there's the thing; Med'an is still learning his craft, he's no where close to either Medivh or even Aegwynn at this point. I'm not saying he's not one of the most powerful beings on the planet, because that would be a lie.. but he's probably a few notches below Azshara and Deathwing at this point; when he's 'older' and more experienced he'll be a match, but he isn't there yet.

The guardian would really above that, otherwise he's pointless.I imagine that the Guardian would be reserved for the huge battles. They could keep him out there "keeping Deathwing at bay" or whatever, while we fight Ragnaros and the other sub-bosses of Cataclsym, and then they could bring him in to help us in the last boss fight.
Or something like that. Think of it this way: Thrall is one of the most powerful Shaman in the world. Malfurion is one of the most powerful druids in the world. Rhonin and Jaina are two of the most powerful mages in the world. Tirion is one of the most powerful paladins in the world.
Why aren't they killing KT and Yogg? Because they're "needed elsewhere." We do most of the "little" stuff, but then when they are really needed (Battle for Undercity, ICC, etc.), they come out and kick some ass, because that's currently the most important ass to kick.
I imagine that Med'an would be the same way.
