(( Here's the beganing of Chapter 4. And for those of you who loved The Maw of Madness and Sanity's Edge, I'm working on another addition to that set called Broken Will ))
- "
Interesting
," Itheac watched the reactions of the chemicals. "
How very interesting
."
- His experiments were proving successful, and each day brought him closer and closer to his goal. Each day, his engineers were coming closer to perfecting his dream.
- "Master," a high, almost squeaky voice said, "it is finished."
-
Finished
?
Already
? Could it be true? "
We shall see about that
," he turned and faced the undead Goblin. "
Lead the way
."
...
- "Greetings, Death Knight," Morec regarded the speaking Crypt Fiend with a slight nod. They were amazing creatures, even in death, and he could only speculate as to what they must have been like in life.
- The Terrorweb Tunnel was aptly named. The undead, spider-like Nerubians had spun their webbing throughout the length of the tunnel. They ate anything caught in those unbelievably-sticky webs, from small insects to full-grown men.
- When they exited the tunnel the Death Knights found themselves in Terrordale. Morec had done extensive traveling, but even he wasn't sure if Terrordale had been the communities original name, or if it had been renamed to correspond with it's current undead-infested state. Necromancers, Skeletons, and more undead Nerubians then there had been in the tunnel roamed unchecked.
- He could see the Plaguelands - one of the most Scourge-corrupted areas in the world - in their full, unholy glory. Once the land had been beautiful and full of life, now it was ruled by and filled with death. For some reason, though, to Morec it was still beautiful.
- His spectral steed carried him effortlessly across the blighted soil to the gates of Stratholme. As he neared, Morec noticed Itheac being escorted out by an undead Goblin. What was he up to?
- Morec dismounted, walked towards the Necromancer, and then kneeld. "Master," he started, "I have returned."
- "
You have failed to bring the Paladin once again, Morec
," Itheac said. Morec could feel the Necromancer's grip of control tighten, and with it he felt his power wain.
- "Master, they are here in the Plaguelands," the Lord Death Knight quickly said. "In a way, I have brought them to you."
- Itheac thought for a moment, then his grip on Morec's mind loosened, and the Death Knight's power slowly returned. "
I
suppose
," the Necromancer said.
- "Now, you can make them suffer your wrath, master," Morec added. "Make them suffer, and then make them serve."
- Itheac grinned, Morec knew how much the Necromancer enjoyed inflicting pain on others. Itheac's grip loosened more then it ever had, and Morec felt his powers growing stronger then over before.
- "
Come, Morec. We have preparations to make
."
- "Yes, master," Morec followed the Necromancer.
- And as he walked, he thought. It was obvious to him that his powers increased as Itheac's grip on his will decreased. Which made him wonder: how powerful would he be if the Necromancer was dead? And would he still have those powers if he turned his back on the Scourge?
- His mind went of these thoughts thousands of times over, but he never became any more sure of himself.

Nice story, but you accidently titled it Light and Deat.
Yeah, I saw.
And not every part of Light and Death can be about the good guys.

So that goblin is just a random addition?
Pretty much, but it all fits into the story as to why.
