unholy DK is best at applying the debuff (aoe debuff ftw).
moonkins second best (applied to anything they single target).
warlocks have to give up damage to do it and have to spend a GCD to apply the debuff.
if there are no DKs or druids but one of each warlock spec then you, the destro lock, should apply it since you give up the least. deep demo locks should be called on to apply the debuff last of anyone since they use CoA to proc MC.
btw, glyph of life tap was always the best glyph for 3/13/55 locks to use (GoLT, GoIncin, GoConflag). it
was
only 0/13/58 specs that dropped the LT glyph due to their greater regen. with the change to the GoLT to a 40 second buff
all warlock specs now use GoLT
.

^_^ we deal in "best practice" and easy to digest good advice here and using the GoLT for all PvE specs is both. there may be times when a particular player may want to make a different choice and if they make that choice after thoroughly researching the idea then that's cool.
using GoLT for all specs has enough maths behind it to back up it's selection but you're quite right that it's not such a huge difference that other options are "noob" choices or anything.

well, i'd actually say that the mistake isn't with the gear itemization so much as it's with the stat balancing. crit shouldn't be as far behind haste as it is.
given some of the things blizz have said about gear escalation in wrath i think they would have rather had haste been more at the crit level or both at the same but even lower level.
having said all that it sounds like mages are nearing crit caps so perhaps this crit/haste imbalance is a warlock specific thing...
