In a run through H ToC the group i was in had a baddie Mage who wanted 5g a piece to DE unwanted epic drops. I couldn't believe that one of the guys actually paid him 10g to DE 2 items.

What is so wrong with that?
It's his profession, he asked for a fee rather than chancing a tip.
Every time an enchanter disenchants something for free, they're effectively reducing their potential profit by adding extra resources into the market. Higher supply = less demand = lower prices.
Plus they're giving you 'free' money too. Instead of 15g vendor price, you get an item that can be sold for 50g - you gained 35g because of that enchanter, the enchanter gets nothing unless you tip/he charges.
I once saw someone paying 3000g for an orb of deception. Although, I guess it is easier to farm 3k than an orb.

Getting paid 30g by a 15ish priest to locksummon a level 80 to outside Deadmines on my 20ish lock alt, when a friend and I were already at the stone looking for more for our own group. Just seemed a bit excessive for payment since we were there anyway and it wasn't the slightest bit of a hassle, and my friend got paid the same amount as well. 60g for a locksummon?
On a related subject, I'm always reluctant to accept tips for any profession work I do. Sure, I helped the person, but it didn't take up my precious time or anything.

I got a free boost through ogrimmar dungeon, think it is RFC it is called on my troll shaman at level 10 from a 80 rogue. THen run is done she ask me if i need any money and due i am new on server i said, well i can take some okey(do not like to rip anyone off).
I thought she was joking but she gave me 25g at end of run and wished me good luck.
Still play on server and shame she quit otherwise i would do a favour for her. She went from my friend book at around level 60, so i know the char got deleted.
not really silly, but here is one from me. I paid 100g for a enginner part who was worth 10g tops, but i needed it for that gnome q in borean. This was in the beginning of wrath.

I ressed a lv 50 mage who tried to take out a lv 60 rogue on a pvp server, after the rogue had left. He gave me 20 gold, and at that time, I thought I was rich beyond all belief! I couldn't stop thanking him for it.
