My alt shadow priest, Heysuz, only does about 2k in most single fights. I should be doing much better. Ulduar is extremely frustrating for me as I do not feel I am holding up my end for getting bosses down. I can be hit capped at 350+ but seems to make no difference to DPS since I am lvl 80. Is spell power more important at lvl 80? Or should I have more haste to improve casting time. My rotation usually is DP, SW:P, (VT, MB and MF) x 2. On mobs and ads I can do 4k with Mind Sear and putting DP and SW:P on main target. I occasionally use VE. Any and all input is appreciated.
Heysuz
Read the stickies, your rotation is off and hit cap is THE most important thing @ level 80, why would you think it wouldn't matter at level 80, that's the level where it means the most.

Gear, gems, enchants (some of yours need changing):

Rotation, maximizing dps:

Should be everything you need!

Raid bosses are level 83. Some trash is level 81-82.
Hit Rating is the single most important stat as a DPS of any class / spec.
Think of it this way -- if you have a 10% chance to miss your target, that's 10% less DPS you're doing overall. That's a HUGE portion.

Raid bosses are level 83. Some trash is level 81-82.Bosses in heroics are level 82, and require zero hit rating above what you get from talents. I'm guessing (hoping!) this is how the OP decided that hit rating makes no difference. If you're in shadow spec, you can use healing gear in a heroic and never miss.
Also:

That's a HUGE portion. If we were doing something simple, like a warlock's shadow bolt spam in BC, that would be accurate. It's much worse than that for shadow priests though. Our dps relies heavily on maintaining dots and managing cooldowns. If your MB misses, you're SOL until it comes back around again. If your VT misses, will you notice immediately and reapply, or will your target be missing one of your key dots for...well, until you do notice? Because of our rotation and rhythmic playstyle, I don't think you can overstate the devastating impact it will have on your DPS to have anything below 100% hit.
